That may be because golovkin may turn more into the jab which makes him look longer. Canelo is a thick kid, neck, back, delts, traps, all very dense...makes the arms look shorter.
Yep, you might well be right. Ive got nothing against shorter fighters, guys like Montell Griffin and Qawi seemed more flexible and fluid physically than Canelo, who reminds me more of Vinny Paz, not stylistically, but in body type. I don't see him winning the battle of jabs in this fight, and I don't believe in he's power to really hold Golovkin off. If he wins it it'll really change how I see him because I've never rated him as high as most others seem too. He's got fast hands and decent headmovement, but I don't see him being a great middle.
We all have different days, Golovkin is in camp the man is going through it so you can't really blame him for not looking as enthusiastic as other days. Unfortunately the fact that he's a boxing star and the public eye is on him means he's always going to be open for more scrutiny. Solid interview, I always enjoy Radio Rahim's interviews.
Canelo appears alot stumpier.Obviously he's a fair bit shorter, but he's never looked long armed to me. Golovkin looks to me to have a fair reach, he outjabs even long rangy guys like Jacobs. I know what the stats say, but Canelo looks quite short limbed to me. But we will see.

All stats I've looked at show similar reach for both.

On Boxrec I'm eight foot fully erect. Im sure that stat is probably wrong, as often stats about reach are. Thankfully, it's something we'll soon see in the ring. Golovkin wins on the outside for me, finishes it on the ropes.

I didn't see at all how he was being an ass. No he wasn't the jovial Gennady that we're used to seeing on HBO but the guy was trying his best to answer a bunch of questions, there's already a language barrier to a degree (a pretty high one at that), he clearly just woke up (not only can you tell just by looking at the guy, Rahim also mentions how he was asleep earlier), and is in the midst of a brutal training camp that's leading up to the biggest fight of his life.
Ok hold on....boxrec has canelo's reach at 70.5 and golovkin at 70...so who's got the t-rex arms again?

I like this YT guy, he is a rare kind of a genunie guy among black boxing fans. Take him as and example pls, he doesn't hate GGG just bcz he is not black and KOing ppl including blacks. We call it racism.
What in the F was so disrespectful about this? I'm not about to watch a 9 minute interview to find the disrespectful part.
And Radio Raheem seems like he's always in a good mood. I like that dude, seems like a good guy.
When some people translated interviews from his native tongue he came across as a massive *******.

LOL @ when they asked him about Ward offering him a fight and him ducking it
"I don't want to talk about him, I won't say anything about him"
If that's not ducking I don't know what is :dunno:
But everyone's scared of this guy, right :lol1:
And I don't want to see anyone making excuses like "Ward's too big" he was 1 weight class bigger and Canelo just moved up to 160 very recently and is now fighting GGG. Some guys move up 3 weight divisions or more in their careers, and he can't even go up 1? :nono: I hope Canelo beats him partly for this reason.
he came across as being very humble
radio rahim was asking his usual long winded questions which is ill-advised to someone who doesnt speak great english
which reminds me of this classic clip:
He wasn't being an azz, he was at work with an azz interrupting his work!
He also just woke up after road work and was loosening up with this guy asking the same questions he's been answering for 2.5 years!
The interviews are a bore and GGG couldn't give a damn about promo clips. He is an old school fighter who doesn't cuss and act like a clown when a camera is pointed at him. He's an adult!
(same as Canelo)
Let clowns act like clowns, theres tons of them in boxing now!
RayAmen, my thoughts from the clip as well!
For sure. Plus i think people speaking in a language that isn't their first language can come across differently to how they real are, even if it's not fabricated.
English is my first language and I naturally sound a bit moody/laid back when i speak but I can also speak French, Hebrew and some Korean and people say i sound like a different person in those languages in terms of my mood but it's not something i'm aware of.
I do think GGG is probably a friendly guy but part of it was probably public image. Let's be fair, HBO had Pacquiao looking like this smiling happy-go-lucky guy that was a monster when the bell ring, when in reality he seems a bit of a d1ck that impregnates hookers, calls for the death of drug users and says gays are worse than animals. I quite like Manny in some ways but i always saw through his persona too.
I'm sure they wanted that kind of image for GGG too.
Good post, man. Green sent.
