He's the new face of combat sports and thus he will prevail and defeat the face of the previous era. If this were a WWE match, this would be what you'd call a passing the torch moment. It's just meant to happen, and it will shock the world and shake everything you thought to be true to the very core. Prepare.
"They are ALL gonna eat their words." - Conor McGregor.
I think Conor sparring with Paulie will give me the information I need to pick a winner. Right now I think Conor has almost no chance to win. Paulie has sparred with many would class boxers and he will know how good of boxer Conor is after sparring some rounds with him. If Paulie says Conor has a chance to beat Mayweather I will believe him. If after sparring with Conor Paulie still thinks Conor has no chance to win I will believe that.Nobody has ever seen Conor in a boxing match with a good boxer so nobody knows how good of boxer he is or isn't. He has no trouble blasting out MMA guys with 4 ounce gloves. That isn't the same thing as fighting a great boxer with an iron jaw who has never been knocked down in 49 pro fights.
It seems dumb and I don't agree with you but odder things have happened.
Brexit, trump, Leicester winning the epl, Exeter Chiefs winning the aviva prem, MH370, horn beating pacquaio. Nothing is impossible anymore
i have a $50 bet with my MMA goon buddy that Connor wont land more than 20 punches
Lol. Get ready to collect. I can see Floyd holding back and wanting to go extra rounds though. So if McGregor only lands like 5 pitty pat punches a round for 6 rounds, thats 25 punches.
I find it pretty embarrassing how you guys rate fighters as "nobodies" or "he'd get ktfo by so and so". You guys don't know sh*t 'bout boxing if you really believe that.
Mayweather schools Horn. But to say Horn is a bum... you guys are clowns.
Flouyd utterly demolishes McGregor (if there isn't carrying/trickery going on).
Honestly I'm more worried about Floyd taking a dive than anything McGregor can do.
You really think Floyd would take a dive?
He's too much of an egomaniac to agree to take a loss.
He doesn't have to win. He could entertain the crowd by doing Maidana plus.
That what's the audience is paying for anyway.
Good conditioning and stamina should be the key here for Gregor.
Not this one. This one will be a KO/TKO.
Well for the record, I don't think McGregor can legitimately beat Mayweather unless it's a set up. Like WWE as you mentioned.
But let's watch and see what happens.
Another set up? Yeah, it absolutely could happen.
It's not like set ups never happened before. We just witnessed one as early as last week.

Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised. Cubs win the World Series, Trump wins the election, Pac going life and death with Horn.
Floyd is my dude though and I'll be rooting for him. Imagine all the "Boxing is dead/not a real sport" comments if McGregor wins?
That's the only real drawback to it - All the influx of threads asking, "Was Floyd ever really that good?" or "Could McGregor defeat a prime Pacquiao or Leonard?" and shit like that.
