Think about it.
He beats horn, no biggie.
Getting robbed actually doesn't hurt his resume, gets him public support again.
Him getting robbed puts him back in the public discussion more than whooping horn tbh.
And let's be honest, his name has been going down lately with the mayweather boring loss, lackluster fights, the gay comments, his politics, etc.
Now he gets more rematch money and probably his title back against an easier opppnent. Ups his pr rating for another bigger payday.
Same had it really close.
Shocked by the robbery outcry.
I'm not. It's almost expected at this point, really. It's to be expected from fans. But when the media starts crying it then I'm like, come on. A close fight is not a robbery. And what did you expect fighting an Australian in his backyard. Better cut all ties with your promoter ASAP.
You know, I haven't scored it -- I never do on first watch.
But it was close, my man. Definitely close. An unimpressive performance by Pacquiao but he almost seemed surprised the dude came to fight :lol1:

I recommend you go and watch Pac-Cotto after Pac-Horn. It's pretty sad how age deteriorates a fighter.
He's definitely slowed a lot. No bounce, hardly any combinations, and stamina wasn't the same. But still somewhat formidable if he makes the proper adjustments.

You're right about that. It also allows Pacquiao the chance to avoid fights against Crawford, Thurman and Spence. Because those guys would annihilate Pacquiao at this stage of his career. It gives Pacquiao the opportunity to close out his career against opposition that is on his level at this point.
What the Horn fight also did is help gain and peak interest in the upcoming Mayweather-McGregor and Cotto-Kamegai fights. Now those fights don't look as bad as they did before Pacquiao's decision loss to Horn.

Haha! Good points. For me i think it still would've been better if he got the decision of that kind of fight. If he did, he'd be criticized widey again for not putting on a show and for not knocking horn, no matter which way people will talk. But then again, he can atleast retire with a win. Now he feels like he should continue again which i dont like at all.
If he won, that was an okay farewell fight already.
If he was actually robbed ala Bradley 1 then maybe.
But he wasn't robbed. Atleast not in my eyes and plenty of other peoples.
Good post. I agree. I didn't see this robbery people are talking about. I thought Horn won.
I was rooting for Pac, but Pacman is DONE.

It does because it wastes time. Precious time in which Pacquiao ages a little more before a potential rematch.
How'd you see it?
Robbery?
I had Horn edging it myself.

I disagree I thought it was a really good fight.
I think at this point it's hard for Pacquaio to turn it round because even if he rematchs Horn and destroys him that's what he was meant to do in the first place.
If he fights one of the top welters and beats them then yeah but I don't think he will. Maybe Crawford, maybe.
I think the fight had a lot of drama but wasn't the highest quality.
I agree he should just move on from Horn for now. Make the rematch his last fight.
You think he would entertain a Broner fight if Broner beats Mikey?
I would say no. If you watched on espn, then you may react like teddy or Stephen a. However, if you watched the box nation feed, then you likely saw a close fight that horn easily could've won.
I had Manny winning but this was a terrible fight no matter how much Joe Tessitore tried to convince viewers otherwise.
I think the loss hurts Manny but I think he can erase the spectre of the loss by going out and beating Crawford, Spence or Thurman. Imo it would be like Duran resurrecting his image by beating davey Moore.

Not a deflect. Pac already has fought tons of greats. If he's cashing out, let him. His legacy is sealed as one of the greatest ever.
I see. So you see these fights as cashing out. Can't say I disagree.
No, losing to a teacher isnt a good thing but we know manny is the king of rematches so maybe we get a rematch, the fight was decent but sloppy, so in that sense yes

Please point me to this post where I said Floyd-McGregor was okay.
You won't. Because you can't. And you were looking to deflect. Now please, silence, woman.

A lot people screaming how horrible for boxing that result was but I kind of disagree too. I haven't heard that much clamor and controversy on the mainstream airwaves for boxing in a long time. When you have to loud @ss guys like Stephen A and Atlas going wild gor boxing, you know its going to turn some heads.
Even though Horn isnt anything great, this has the makings for a very succesful primetime rematch.
Kind of like when Conor lost to Nate Diaz. Diaz is far from anything great and Conor shouldnt have lost to him. But beyond that it made a greats story
