Virgil Hunter offers to train Kovalev

I actually don't think Hunter would be a bad trainer for Kovalev. Hunter with Ward is an A++ team. Hunter was amazing end of Round 2 in the first fight for Ward. Without that peptalk and sage, confidence building advice I don't think Ward would have lasted the distance. Hunter proved himself to me at that moment. It was to me a singularly more impressive bit of cornering than Freddy Roach has ever impressed me with.

i believe that Kovalev will lead the Pavlik way. he'll somewhat do coke and alcohol down that road or maybe started it already. i know it's not nice to hear but it's the harsh reality. it's what happens to stiff power punchers once they are defeated by a slick boxer. he'll fight a couple or maybe 3 no ones win and then lose again. very sad. Kovalev was slicker than Ward in the first fight and won it. He was robbed. The second fight was competitive and Weeks jumped in in the first window of opportunity he saw to stop the fight. If we are all un-biased none of the fights were and are conclusive. Ward is not a clean fighter, he is a cheater.

Kovalev needs a total new team: trainer, manager, promoter. An attitude change would help him too.

He touched on something important when he said kovalev would have to respect him cuz he saw and exploited kovalev's weakness. Kovalev would first have acknowledge that he has those weaknesses....I'm not sure he has the ability to do that. He obviously didn't do it after the first fight...maybe this time will be different.

Kov needs Putin to be his coach or Ivan Drago himself to get him to listen! He has too much national pride to really listen to anyone! Only reason he even listened to Jackson(see folks forget that Kov used to listen to John David Jackson back before the Hopkins fight) was cuz he was the first and so far only quality coach that have him a shot and stick with him! Kov believed in his own ego and his stubbornness led to his own demise! The guy needs to get the idea of that there's nothing wrong with asking for help and receiving it! But yeah, Virgil is totally clowning Kov right now.....this is bad for the Krusher! Thankfully he finally gave credit to Ward so it doesn't look as bad....but still bad!

I wonder if he would allow him and Ward to spar. Kovalev is a good fighter but he obviously needs discipline. Hunter will be good for awhile but I'm not if he would be consistent.

Could of sworn they stopped working with Conte awhile ago. That's also what I thought, but damn Ward looked like superman with those straight rights.

He could probably need some help, since it seems he don't respect his own coach so much. From what I heard from the Ward camp. Btw. Anybody know if Ward was with Conte on this one? Could of sworn they stopped working with Conte awhile ago.
