On 5dimes (and I know they aren't the best around):
+275 for Floyd to win by any decision?
+400 for Floyd to win by UD?
-160 to win by KO/TKO/DQ?
Not to mention, the win by a certain round are ridiculous.
You guys better hop on it before the odds jump up ridiculously.
I think you are misunderstanding me or simply ignoring my legit points. At the odds offered if one is running at more than 11% ROI (assuming the -900 odds) with their sports betting it doesn't make sense to bet on Floyd to win even if it is 100% to happen assuming one has limited resources as I imagine us all to have. You are giving up money by doing so. Plus nothing is 100%. Thats a dummy conversation to be having.
If you are just lowering yourself to the dummy level or are a dummy (you're a new guy or alt I got no idea your agenda or IQ) with the people saying Conor has 0.00% chance to win than fair play, continue talking directly to the dummies. I'm talking real sh^t doe.
See my next post^
I am/was talking directly to the dummies... for those saying "0% chance" (see original post)...
But the thing is, I think there are A LOT of these people... people who otherwise aren't "dummies."
Kellerman might have a $100,000 bet with Brendan Schaub (MMA fighter/rookie commentator) that Conor won't land a punch.
can you explain what does it mean in real life, bcz some ppl like me never understand it :D
so, it's +400 Floyd, UD. If you bet $100 on Floyd UD, how much you win, and vice versa for Connor bet and win?
If you bet 100 on Floyd you get 25 back I believe if he wins.

No.
+400 means...
You bet 100, you win 400.
You actually get back 500 (400 plus your 100 back)
-400 means...
You bet 400, you win 100 (or bet 100, you win 25), etc
@ Eff Pandas
I'm directing this at the people talking that Conor has "no chance."

(I'm sure the Mayweather money will start coming in soon)
In fairness there isn't money to be made here unless you got a bunch of money already or a bigger betting bankroll then most people cuz if you bet $9k on Floyd you win $1k (last odds I saw had Floyd as a -900).
So if you got a better ROI than 11%, your betting on Floyd to win doesn't even make sense from jump street. Nor it is the best use of your betting bankroll any day except on Aug. 26 cuz hemming up a bunch of your money for 2 months is stupid.
I've personally bet on this fight, but I've stayed away from the Floyd to win bet & have bet on the fight to end within certain rounds bet + the under which I believe is -170ish or something like that.
And the under is the line everyone should be betting here not Floyd to win in my humble, but experienced, betting opinion. And send me 5% of you winnings upon cashing your winning bet at -170ish that this fight doesn't go halfway into the 10th round for those who like money & are grateful lol. Gonna have to start a Dwyer-like podcast soon.
"In fairness" I was being fair...
First of all,
That's the way betting odds work. That's the way they worked for Andre Berto, Floyd was a -3000 favorite... against Maidana, Floyd was -900 and -600... against Canelo, Floyd was -300 (the odds try to draw two-way action).
Secondly,
A "0% chance to win" means there is NO CHANCE OF LOSING betting on Floyd. Unless those people saying that are just flapping their lips.
And lastly,
In business, a 12% return-on-investment is pretty decent. At -900 you'd be talking 11.1%. At -800 it'd be 12.5%. The odds on Bovada are currently down to -550, that's 18.2%. Invest $1000 today, get back $182 in two months!?... that's an outstanding ROI, especially for something with (supposedly) a "0% chance" of losing.
Where's that action from Boxing "experts"???
If you bet 100 on Floyd you get 25 back I believe if he wins.

This website seems to punctuate the question.

Why is the Boxing world not jumping all over this?!
Where are all the "Conor has a 0% chance" people?
This should be THE BEST EVER odds that you're gonna get.
Where's that confidence?
We've heard your mouths, but where's the money?
Casuals and MMA fans are offering even money on Floyd to win the fight in many cases. That's what I'm going with. :headbang:
Ganondorf, if you see a legit place where somebody is prepared to bet on McGregor at even money let me know my friend! :boxing:
To be honest, the 1/6 on Mayweather (that's -600 in US currency) is absolutely crazy. I mean I remember Mayweather was 1/7 (-700) against Guerrero, a multi-weight boxing world champion - so according to the oddsmakers McGregor has more chance of winning than Guerrero did :pat:
+400 means for every 100 dollars you bet you get 400 in return for a successful bet.
-400 means you need to bet 400 to get a 100 dollar return on a successful bet.
I believe it's the opposite.
Its stupid. Fractional and decimal odds are much easier to work out.
Tell that to Vegas..
And it's actually the easiest, safest way to bet since their is no point spreads
I was wondering that too. I figured that Irish dude would be like a 1000 to 1 underdog, so I could put A $G on him, And Win A Million Bucks if he, by some Miracle, got Lucky.
It's called the moneyline or betting the moneyline
+ is the underdog
- is the favorite
Basically it equates to $100-
if Conor is +400 it means you win 400 for every hundred you bet, so a $200 bet wins $800
If a guy is -400, it's the reverse and you gotta bet $400 to win $100,,so if you bet a hundred, you would win $125..
Here you go
How do odds work? What does + and - mean
