I remember thinking how fighters not known for power can hurt guys with body shots easier than head shots and even get stoppages that way but the whole time I was thinking if Kov tires, I could see Ward launch everything he has into a right hand and get Kov in trouble and get that very rare KO. Regardless of the last 1-2 shots, Ward really showed power to the head and body. I have no problem with people complaining about the ending but Kov was spent with legal punches and no matter what, Ward was going to win, and by KO. Kov can go on to do some more things in Boxing but the #1 fighter in the world is clearly Ward. This is another fight in the long list of fights where the boxer in a close fight wins rematches more convincingly. But the winner of this fight under any variation imaginable in the last round - was still going to be the winner. That cant be disputed.
My first reaction when I get hit in the balls is to take a knee.. The Russia's first reaction is to complain to the ref.
Ward never grazed his nuts.. The power behind Ward's punches would have made Kov ask for at least a time out to recover.
Fake News
I guess no one told main events that weeks isn't Captain save a kov. He had enough bay area funk and wanted to go home. Bullies usually cry for help when they get that ass beat.
:lol1: captain save a kov!!! :lol1:
But that's that amateur bull****. They are used to the refs babysitting and breaking up clinches right away.
That's when you knew it was over. I saw him tying up Wards left arm in the cliches to avoid the body shot. At that point he knew he couldn't touch him and he couldn't take any more punishment to the body and he broke mentally. This was huge for Ward to come back from the previous performance and settle it this conclusively.
He was a beaten fighter and looked to the ref for assistance.
His hope was to get Ward a warning to discourage him from punching his balls. That's why he was complaining about being punched in the balls.
I agree...

His hope was to get Ward a point deduction to discourage him from throwing body shots. That's why he was whining about legitimate body blows
