Ward-Kov 1 gave us many a threads. The 70 something percent of boxing media of 40-60 media members scored it for Kov for example.
There was the constant heart break from new Kov fans and swore he'd kill Ward in the rematch.
It has me wondering.. Has anyone here who is a "fan" of Kov done their homework and research like they did after the 1st fight to see who was up after the first 6 rounds, who they had ahead in this fight and what their reactions or thoughts of the fight's aftermath is?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Kov "fans"
:luvbed:
I had 4-3 Ward. I expect majority of the decent fans & media will have it 4-3 either way. If you had either Kovalev or Ward up by more than 2 rounds you're a tool.
I think 4-3 Kovalev is a fair scorecard. I had it 5-2 Kovalev myself, but there were 2 swing rounds in there that could have gone either way.
I'm disappointed because I felt as though Kovalev was thoroughly unprepared for how to handle being fouled (allegedly or otherwise). A big part of the problem is that the mother****er really doesn't speak English.
I strongly believe that he doesn't really understand what John David is saying to him in the corner. He needs to get with a good Russian/Ukrainian trainer who speaks his language and can actually coach him in these kind of crisis moments in-between rounds.
Ward was warned for low blows as early as Round 2. Right then and there the Coach should have been making how to handle these kind of fouls the focus of the discussion in the corner. Specifically liked RJJ's stance that if you're getting hit low and the ref ain't doing ****, then you hit the mother****er back.
Anyways, the ending to this fight just didn't feel right. **** Ward for the low blows, but **** Kovalev and JDJ for not knowing how the **** to handle that ****.
I had it 4-3 Kov but the first round was so close it could have went either way IMO. Something is up with Kovalevs stamina, the guy gassed again after 5 rounds and it's not like Ward lit him up to the body all night. He landed a few here and there but geez the guy was gassed again

Kevin Iole Card: (67-66 Kovalev)

Bad left hook Cards: 67-66 Ward (Scott) and 67-66 Kovalev (Patrick)
This matters. Kovalev was clearly on his way to winning when Weeks robbed him of his chance at victory. :lol1:
He was down on 2 of the 3 cards.
No one in their right mind would score that 10-8, you Ward dummies really be reaching.
ahahahahah... Dude was hurt, winced in pain, was getting dominated before being caught in the corner.... you know what, nevermind lol
No one would have given Ward a 10-8 rd
Thank you. It was a super close fight.. and Round 8 would have most likely been a 10-8 Ward round w/ or w/out the KD, thus having Ward up on most cards.
From that point, I don't see how Kov could have came back in the last third of the fight

I had it 4-3 Ward myself. Ward would have been given an extra pt in the 8th, which would have put Kov in a definite hole that I don't think he had the gas to get out of
Where's your evidence of this?
I don't expect a reply because you ignore when you're called out on your bullshit.

As y'all can see it was a very close fight just like the first.
Only the most salty fanboys are pretending that Kov was beating up Ward until the last round. Reality is that it was a very competitive affair. 4-3 either way were the most common scorecards produced for a reason.

Which is pretty accurate. Some had it 4-3 Ward, maybe I can see some Kovalev fans have it 4-3 Kovalev. Boxingscene Live had it 4-3 Ward.

The fact that Ward was the favorite in the rematch says all you need to know about the "robbery" in the first fight.
