I think a win over Lomachenko puts Rigo in the top p4p spot... Lomachenko is simply a much more talented fighter than Kovalev, it would be a more impressive win than Ward's win over Kovalev. Hell, I bet Andre Ward himself (who is a big fan of Rigo) would put him in the #1 spot.
Afro Cubans are Black....hence the world Afro.
You know......... like Afro Americans.
What would YOU consider Rigo if you saw him walking down the streets?
"Wow that white guy sure is dark...he must be Cuban"
"Man....that spanish guy looks just like John Lee Hooker"
:lol1:
He is black but he's a part of a different ethnicity man...
I consider him black. If he isn't black then damn near nobody is black. The fact that he is Afro Cuban doesn't change him being black. He probably came from Africans who were shipped to Cuba and that's as black as it gets. I am a big Rigo fan. I was also a fan of the great Cuban boxer Jose Napoles.
Yeah he's black but I bet you get him around African Americans and it's different. They're different culturally.
Rigondeaux is Afro Cuban. Depends on what you consider black...I consider him black. If he isn't black then damn near nobody is black. The fact that he is Afro Cuban doesn't change him being black. I think it would close. To me it depend a lot on how good the winner looked in the fight. If Rigo won and returned to 122 I would probably put him number 1 PFP. I wouldn't put Loma over Ward if he won. Loma is a much bigger boxer and he should win. A better case for Loma over Ward would be if he beat Mikey at 135 and then returned to 130.
You make some very good interesting points, did not look at it from that way yet

All of Which were expected to do great things until Lomachenko derailed them. Russel was being worshiped as the second coming of Taylor, Nicholas Walters was hailed as this knock out king that would eventually be taking over 130. Sosa was an Odds breaker. Martinez was a defending champion.
all of those fighters are c- at best...dre's victims are hall of famers and future hall of famers...
Would the winner of Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux dethrone Ward as P4P?
Well let me know what you think...
... of course he would!!! :)
... but we'll never have that fight... :)
No, I don't think so. I think I had Rigo on #1 or #2 at some point after beating Donaire but Nonito went on a streak of poor performances which sort of devalued Rigo's dominant win, sadly. Ward's wins over Kessler, Abraham, Froch and Kovalev are excellent and even if Kovalev goes on to look washed out (by losing to Adonis for instance), I think Andre's resume can take the hit.
A win for Loma would definitely put him in the top three behind Ward and Golovkin however.
Rigo is black too,but Ward resume better yes,Kovalev a very good name as your best, but kovalev is no Rigondeaux or Lomachenko
Rigo resume weak not worthy
loma resume weak not worthy
Dre resume all time great...deserves number 1 Black Power✊🏾
Ward's resume is better so no...Black Power✊🏾
