>Fight Ward first time and win clearly, get robbed.
>Get screwed in negotiations for 2nd fight so get pretty much no money unless the fight gets loads of attention and sells well on PPV.
>Few days before big second fight Mayweather announces a freak show match against an mma fighter. Everyone is talking about it, no about my fight, real boxing match.
>Someone that never boxed a day in his life is getting paid way way way more than me and has simultaneously ruined the chances of this PPV vs Ward making any money.
>Killing Andre Ward is the only thing keeping me going.
Take away the knockdown point from kovalev, and no doubt ward won that fight. That's what I mean, he cant win that fight without knocking (down) out ward. Maybe he can win a decision by knocking ward down 2 or 3 times, but if that happens he should finish the fight the fast way. No, I dont think kovalev is the best fighter (boxing-skill wise, skill is not everything in boxing).
Let's see tonight, what's sure is that we will have an awesome fight. Let's enjoy it :)
Fair enough brother
Let's hope it's a ****ing war and FOTY!!!
"Did not make any mistakes" that's a bold statement lol, even ward would rofl at that
of course he didn't fight the perfect fight, but saying it was all ward's fault is taking away merit from kovalev who fought a great fight
ward did not make any mistakes, it was all kovalev. ward depends entirely in kovalev gassing, a kovalev with a full gas tank is something ward can't handle

To continue from last point, UNLESS you mean from kovalev just not being given the decision (robbed) point of view. Well then you make a fair point, and I can see what you mean by him needing a Ko

Kovalev will never win a UD. He's not the best boxer. Whether he wins by ko, or he doesnt win at all.

In sorry man I disagree, kovalev boxed beautifully for large quantities of the last fight. At length, his jabs, faints and accurate counter punching shows just how good he is.
It's always possible for ward to win, but prediction wise, I'm going kovalev UD (an impossible fact for you, but keep in mind, that's what the majority scored it last fight)
You damn right it was, and the majority of people thought he won that fight. Hence the immediate rematch. Which kovalev exercised and spent months putting the pressure on ward to sign.
And it goes both ways, kovalev knows andre alot more now. And he gave alot of respect to him, even quoted as to expecting more from him. I predict a kovalev UD this time, with ward touching the ground once minimum.

You mean that he wasnt a sharp scary puncher in the last fight?
You mean that kovalev didnt think that he could harm ward with one punch in the last fight?
Nah, nothing has changed. The difference is that ward has now an exact measure of kovalev's power. And that's and advantage.

Kovalev just needs to be wary of ward bullrush tactics (He rushes in like a billygoat head first) If he can keep the clinch and wrestling to a minimum. He will win. Ward was no challenge to kovalev at length.
To those thinking ward will "adjust" and just dominate kovalev, your in for a surprise.
He will be one sharp, scary puncher this fight. He knows he can hurt andre with a single punch.
Andres only shot is too bullrush and try tire kovalev in the clinch (ugly, but effective)
That zaps kovalev power and brings the boxing to a more even playing field, but even then, it will still be a tough fight.

so it's not kovalev's merit to have caught ward? lol ok
Of course it is. But it happens because ward goes for a counter right when he shouldnt. And that's a mistake. Whether you like it or not.

Ward 1 Kov 0. Kov better do something different if he fights like last time he'll lose again.
Of course he made a mistake. Man, even I, and I only have amateur experience, I know that at the beginning of the fight you have to be extremely carefull with your oponent because he has full power and you are cold. Specially if you know that he is a top notch puncher.
It was a mistake, of course it was. He was way way too greedy. He wont make the same mistake again (unless he's completely idiot, who knows...)

Well, then this time he better adjusts. Because I cant imagine ward making the same mistake again. He will not look for a counter right hand in the second round again, 99% he will wait for kovalev to gas out, so, as I've said, better kovalev adjusts and makes something different or he will get the beating of his life.
I have no preferences in this fight, I'll just enjoy it. I dont like very much ward nor kovalev.
