And probably not heterosexuals
Let's be honest, it's rolling and kicking. It's nonsense and devoid of any skill. It's like a bar brawl but with unmanly and childish techniques such as strangling and shin kicking are encouraged. It's just pathetic.
The whole Conor thing has bought this debate to a head. How badly do you want to see him KTFO
I'm an MMA fan and I don't think McGreggor has a hope in hell. In fact, he was protected in mma and is hugely overrated. Frankie Edgar was begging for a fight with him but the ufc wasn't having it, for obvious reasons.
I get great pleasure out of this fight because again, Conor won't even defend his belt against anybody legit. He also is a very very talented loudmouth but beyond that, i have people who act as if Floyd wasn't a world class fighter.
You have people who think because Floyd neutralizes fighters that Conor is gonna smoke him. I hope he washes Conor so people can see how talented he truly was at one point.
Kel Brook gets washed by Errol, GGG X Saul is gonna be a brilliant fight. Andre fights Sergey tomorrow......its a good year.
boxing is limiting yourself mma is the complete form of fighting if we seen each other in the streets i would take you down and snap your ankle before you can even set up a jab.
Except that it isnt there are still restrictions and rules in MMA
to the people arguing its the closest to real street fighting. we are watching boxing because its a sport that can be(rarely gets) mastered. people in mma are novices at best in the multiple martial arts they use. rarely do we get non wrestling specialist, and when we do they exceed. i dont wanna watch a "sport"(mma) where a bunch of people are novices at boxing/kickboxing/grappling. i wanna see masters of the craft go against other masters of there craft.
This
Even if I cud stomach watching a couple of grown men Rolling around strangling each other like school girls fighting over a boy that still wouldn't make up for how amateur most "professional" mma actually is. Like they are just rubbish.
how many knees to the face and elbows to your eye socket can you take before tapping out or quit...there is no quitting in mma in boxing you have that option
Oh come on most mma fights barely go two rounds before a tap out. its an anything goes school boy (girl) fight u start scratching each others eyes out and pulling hair and hitting nuts sure that **** hurts it doesn't last long
Doesn't make u tough tho. It just makes mma a playground joke. That's not how men actually fight in any culture I can think of. In boxing u can take huge 500 ld force punches to the eye socket for 12 rounds. Sorry I don't buy the mma is tougher cos they tap out argument
If I stabbed u in the kidney that wud hurt and u wud Tap out. Doesn't make me a fighter tho does it - makes me a ****ing pussi. Boxing is for men
Your comparing golf to football. Makes no sense. I love boxing but I'll tell you something. MMA is far more difficult cause it encompasses so many different fighting styles.
Roll with a black belt just once. It will mind.
I have. I still think boxing training is every bit as hard and the cardio aspect makes it harder to an extent. Just because there's more to study, doesn't mean you're working harder in mma. People in both sports can work just as hard but the ones who focus on certain areas are going to be better in those areas. Case in point; boxers being far better at boxing than mma fighters.

I am a boxing fan first but I watch and enjoy the UFC fights. The best of those guys can fight their ass off. To say they have no skill just is not true. The best MMA fighters have an amazing variety of skills. It's just a different sport with different rules than boxing.Of course Conor has no chance to beat a great boxer like Mayweather under boxing rules. Conor is good with his fists and he might have been a very good boxer if he had devoted himself to boxing from the beginning. He is the best in the world at MMA type fighting and he has my greatest respect as a fighter.
I don't know any MMA fans who are giving Conor a chance in a boxing match.
It's as silly as boxing fans giving Floyd a chance (of even medically surviving) in an MMA match.
You will find a few handpicked retards who think either of those things but for the most part the winner of this fight was decided by the format.
MMA is in no way similar to street fighting going to the ground is a good way to get kicked in the head by his friend or some guy who just wants to jump into a fight.
Krav Maga is far closer. Rule #1 dont get clinched or his friends will kill you.
And McGregor is going to get his **** stomped. He has 2 months to learn defense with 10-12 ounce gloves, dont know which, and how to strike when you and your opponent are wearing 10-12 ounce gloves. Boxing gloves change both offense and defense considerably.
McGregor's primary defense is a low guard to protect against kicks and take-downs. He uses footwork, body and head movement to protect his head. What use is his kick and takedown low guard defense in boxing?
mma people love it because they think its like real fighting.
For a start any adult who gets in street fights is a complete loser and mma is nothing like real fighting either, you cant headbutt, bite, break finger eye gouge or kick on the balls and really who's going to pull guard or take a guy down in a pub fight and get kicked in the head by his mates ?
But yeah there was mma people on the radio here in aus saying how McGregor will win because mma has more power and better footwork that Floyd hasnt seen before.
Are you saying the actual techniques in all combat styles wouldn't work in a real fight just bc they are not allowed to do certain things ? Ive downed a few guys from pro boxers to power lifters ,what you are suggesting is the talk of someone whos never been in a actual RELEVANT fight before . Rest assured the ppl i got ahold of in street or sport NEVER forgot me!
Sorry but ANYONE that dismissed any techniques that determine who walks away doesnt grasp what survival is about ...real figyts aren't a video game you break shyte or you knock someone da fuk out when its you or the other guy .
LOL! No pro boxer would ever have fought you in a street fight. And if an amateur boxer fought you in a street fight then he's a crap fighter and can't win in the ring.
Anyone who brags about street fighting has never fought in a sanctioned match before. Real men don't fight like animals in the street. PERIOD.
If you have an issue with someone that is that serious, you can take it outside.. but if you end up rolling around on the ground then you're a boy, not a man.
also to the street fight comments, its so dumb to say "well at least mma is closer to street fighting". thats not the point of watching sports(remember we watch this as a sport not as a hypothetical who can kill the other person in war). people watch sports to awe at technique in a controlled and mostly safe environment from competitors that trained long and hard to hone their craft to the highest levels they possible can. in mma you wont get that. the closest you get is some style purist training in other arts so they wont be steamrolled by a grappling novice desperately trying to get the fight off the feet and onto the ground
I agree with a lot of that.
A few people aside, MMA just seems like guys who weren't quite good enough at one particular combat sport, so they jumped to a sport that requires you to just be "OK" at a few things, but those OK skills add up to one good MMA fighter. There are some exceptions of course but i generally think any athletic person could probably train to be competitive in MMA. It takes a different kind of athlete altogether to hone their craft and reach a top of sport that requires dedication to being exceptional at it. That's not disrespecting MMA, it still takes huge dedication and training but it's not quite the same as excelling at a single craft with years of dedication.
I play a lot of musical instruments, some good, some rudimentary. But when i see a proper concert pianist playing, it's far more impressive than anything i do. The amount of instruments i play to a satisfactory standard might make me seem somewhat talented to some people but it's not quite the same or as impressive as seeing a person thats playing classical piano to an extremely high standard.
And by that notion, put me on their stage and expect me to hang with them in their world, i can't. All the things i do "OK" doesn't count for a thing when i need to be an equal to someone who has mastered something.
Maybe it's not the best analogy, but it's the same thing.
