After two years of watching mediocre current fighters I decided to rewatch Mayweather-Pacquiao, a fight I only watched once live and never bothered with a replay (except a few highlights here and there.) I was always surprised how any fight fan could argue that Pac won the fight or that the scores should of been closer.
While rewatching the fight I was reminded by how great a fighter Floyd truly is. Pacquiao was completely at a loss on what to do to in that ring. Floyd was in complete control from the opening bell, his movement and actions dictated everything Pacquiao did. Floyd's right hand was a master class....a lot of fighters can not throw the right hand as quickly and sharply as Floyd. Against southpaw's lesser fighters lunge and fall in when they throw the right. Floyd can literally throw the right hand like a jab and never lose his balance or footing.
In addition to Pac not avoiding Floyd's right, Manny also struggled with Floyd's jab....how often do you see an orthodox fighter land as many jabs on Pac as Floyd did? Most guys cant land a jab on Pac at all! If that wasn't bad enough the footwork, Floyd's legs and feet are probably his greatest asset, he moves around the ring like it's a natural habitat. No part of the ring is a dangerous place for him to be, he knows exactly what move to make at every angle of the ring.
Yet it didn't stop there, adding to that Floyd's upper body movement was sensational, he constantly moves his head and body giving Pac the smallest target to fire at. Whether he was on the front foot or back foot he knew how to twist and contort his upper body to stay out of striking distance of Pac's fists. And if that wasn't enough brilliance, Floyd knows exactly when to clinch, exactly when to push off, exactly when to grab his opponent if necessary.
To Pac's credit he has great stamina and did not noticeably wilt like many of Floyd's opponents who become clearly frustrated and start to make mistakes. Pac was frustrated but he did not make the kind of mistakes that allowed Floyd to tee off or go inside to try to break him down.
Overall Pac was out of his depth in facing Floyd, way too much skill, way too many tactics, way too much experience for Pacquiao to overcome. I ultimately scored the fight 10-2 and even in those rounds were Pac scored flurries, Floyd was still having his way with Pac in the middle of the ring.
Most interesting of all is that the HBO commentators pretty much were silent on Pacquiao they reacted to everything Floyd did like he was the HBO fighter. Then again I can understand why, Floyd was masterful that night.
Pactrash had Floyd on the ropes(No running or hugging then) and BACKED OFF.:boxing:
Explain that one tiny dancer.
Juat watch the fight and you will see how fast floyd run and hug for 12 rounds.

You try and keep throwing with a torn rotator cuff see how long you can keep it up.
Kigali couldn't get it since he drank the KOOL-AID.
I'll let the main man Pac explain it for him.
@ 2:57:" I was disappointing with myself (throwing barrages on Floyd on the 4th round) because he was leaning on the ropes and I was attacking him, starting my pressure to him, but when I threw my hand I feel like I cut my hands. I feel like I didn't have my right hand. "

You did it in the past and got robbed. Off course you can do it better this time around with a healthy arm.
As I quote Pac,"'I threw a lot of punches than him and I thought I did more than he did."
YES YOU DID MY FRIEND. YES YOU DID!
NOT ONLY DID YOU THREW MORE. YOU CONNECTED MORE THAN HE EVER DID WITH JUST ONE HEALTHY ARM AT THAT.
LEGENDARY
Look how floyd loves to Pull Pac's arm. He knew off Pac's injury. He loved to tear that rotator cuff so bad lololololol

Will you look at that it's already bleeding out. See that long red mark behind the right delts .. Or you rather believe there isn't a red mark?

It was a really boring fight, Floyd won clearly. We move on. Over the years I understand people's frustrations. Especially when we witness amazing fights like Brook Spence, AJ Klitschko, etc..
There wasn't even any blood man. For 100 mill each at least let me see a knockdown
8-4 pac. clear as day.
Yup, this was robbery of the century. I post evidences of this fight to show how much of a fluke this is. It's not my fault this topics show all the time. The fact it's still being talked about is because of how fraudulent this fight was. Same fight, different thread. Same evidences showing how Fraudster fooled the boxing public.
And now we have a new robbery coming soon. McGregor's chances of winning in Vegas is not even going to 0.000000000000000000000000000001 of a % There is no chance at all. A big fat ZERO.
You know why?
Floyd just stipulated in their contract that Mcgregor can't do any dirty tactics. No elbows, No dirty tactics. In short, only Floyd can elbow and do his lame dirty tactics that night. Now we only need Bayless as the ref and all of those elbows and elbow pushes Floyd will do will not be seen at all.
# VEGAS the city of SIN
Thanks for proving the point. Half of that **** doesn't land. Im laughing as the video tries to make it look like Floyd has a GGG like jab because Manny was pulling back after jabs to avoid the 1-2. Uh no!
It was a ****ty fight by both.
I had it 8-4 for Floyd but that basically because of his jab. I would have liked to see the fight with a 100% Manny. Everyone got robbed. Floyd knew full well that Manny had a torn rotator cuff and played to it no fear of the counter right hook what so ever because Manny couldn't throw it. As for the Manny threw more hooks crowd #1 a lot of those "hooks" are jabs and #2 he threw his hooks in tight when he was infighting where there is less torque on the shoulder so less strain on the rotator cuff. At range he couldn't throw the counter right hook because the distance puts to much torque (force X length of lever arm) on the shoulder.
It wasn't a domination by Floyd it was just a bad fight
As for compubox bull**** in any Mayweather fight. He gets credit for punches that never landed. He frames his punches like a baseball catcher frames a pitch that was off the plate. If you dont know what that means the catchers pulls the glove just back over the corner and holds it there to trick the ump into thinking that the pitch caught the corner.
Mayweather literally does the same damn thing. He throws, misses, and then scrapes the palm of his glove or the wrist across the head and gets credit for a landed punch. Its bull**** and he has been getting away with that **** for years. They dont even score that crap in armatures.
But who can blame him if compubox and the judges score it why not do it?
I'm just telling the truth. That's all I'm doing. When truth is on your side. It's easy. ;)
Youre a minority Spammer with an agenda nothing more .
Don't you like how every article about Floyd Connor the writers all state how easy Floyd beat Manny, every time I read that Floyd dominated, shut out, outclassed Manny I think of you being burned with Holly Water.
There had to be more to it than that. Pacquiao didn't shut down for no reason.
What do you do the first time you step in a ring and the target moves in and out of range four times faster than any opponent you've ever faced?
Manny wasn't being overly selective IMCV. He couldn't control distance on the more athletic Mayweather. That's why in between moments where he sat on his gloves he looked like he was on ice skates trying to find Mayweather with flashlight.
I had high hopes for Pacquiao as well but I knew within moments it wasn't going to be the fight we hoped it would be. Floyd was moving his legs and juking around like a background dancer for James Brown that night.
The incredible thing is Pacquiao still made a fight of it despite a gross deficit in the running and movement game. He chopped Floyd up and scared the sh*t out of him with his crazy combinations a few times.. That was good enough for me. Manny showed me he was the better fighter. Mayweather was the better athlete.
Excellent post. Well stated.
Just look at the first little counter right.. Weak sauce but look at Floyd's legs after he uncoils it.. Human mongoose completely. He was in the Matrix whenever he got into the red zone. Spritely little f*cker.. That's what was so unnerving for the opposition. Even when he scores he's AUDI. :lol1:
Looking back I was pretty delusional going into it -- I really thought that Manny would lay it on the line and take a lot of risks. Obviously a massive, brutal KO like the one he suffered, that sh*t is inevitable that it will change you, and I understood him being much more cautious and calculated in the bouts leading up to the Mayweather fight because he needed to win all of those to get the Floyd fight -- but once he finally got to that point I thought he'd at least go out on his shield. I truly believed that, lol. Maybe it was just me wanting to believe that.
What disgusted me as Pacquiao fan was this: He didn't even give himself a shot to win the fight. You're not going to beat Floyd by fighting his f**king fight. Trying to pick your spots and be calculating with the best calculating pick your spots boxer in the world -- lmao what the f**k kinda game plan is that?? So let's say Manny lets his hands go and gets countered to death and loses badly anyway...well at least we could say that the motherf**ker tried. I woulda been much more accepting of that.
But actually attempting LESS punches than Floyd...lmao I was f**king stunned.

Floyd landed those two right hand counters in the first and Pac fought scared the entire rest of the way.
I thought i was the only fight fan that notice that! Mayweather came out in the first round and threw and land two right hand which i think put Pacquiao on notice.
I remember after the fight RJJ made note of it in his analysis, that he thought those first two shots were Mayweather way of putting Pacquiao on notice.
Pac IMO took that notice and was a bit scared to go
all in, this was made apparent when he staggered Mayweather a couple of rounds down the line but then backed off after throwing some flurries.
Spoon23, dude, you're ether skills are kind of scary.
He is definitely off in the head, must sit around all day watching the forum and as soon as Floyd is mentioned in comes the Spoon Spam, its really a case of him convincing himself, dude is a retarded child no doubt about it.
