JAMES DEGALE claims George Groves would not deserve a 50/50 split if their long-awaited rematch was to be arranged. Groves beat DeGale on points in a closely fought bout back in May 2011 and a return clash has been talked about ever since. Groves triumphed over Fedor Chudinov in Sheffield last month to finally be crowned a world champion at the fourth time of asking. Click Here To Read More]
Degale deserves a bigger cut for getting his teeth knocked out by Badou Jack and barely clinging on to a draw? Nah.
Groves actually has the bigger profile and bigger fan base. He's also been in bigger fights. And he won the first fight.
All's Degale had over Groves was a world title, now George has one too. 50/50, make the fight happen.
I'd actually prefer to see them in separate fights with the likes of Callum Smith, Eubank, Ramirez etc.
DeGale can fùck off. I thought he was beyond all this bullshít now and just wanted big fights.
And yet again DeGale is pulling out the injury card. After every fùcking fight he says he's been fighting injured and then he gets surgery and proclaims you'll see 'the best James DeGale ever' then he conjures up another mediocre, laboured, performance and says he was fighting injured but when it's fixed in his next fight you'll see 'the best James DeGale ever'. Every fight, without fail.
He's a fùckin melt.
I'd like to see the fight but I hope Groves doesn't wait around for him.
Given they're both champs, and Groves has beat DeGale twice already, it sounds like DeGale is pricing himself out. I'm not surprised. DeGale looked terrible against Porky and both Bute & Jack should have got the nod.
Apparently he's very talented and looks great in camp, but that doesn't often translate into the live fights. He's overhyped and I imagine Groves would win again.
If these two were fighting purely on record and achievement, Degale should get the lion share but Groves is actually the bigger name in that he has fought Froch twice and probably sells more tickets than Degale, who last topped a bill in the UK in 2014 and it was on channel 5.
So i think to 50 50 is fair but both seem to not want to move on terms.
Degale just fought a unification and didn't even make a million $. He's 30 now and if anything is less of a draw than Groves but i think he will accept 50-50 in the end.
50/50 is fair, both are champs and it's to unify unless Degale wants to tangled with the Dirrell bros. , Benadivez, or Ramirez!
This guy has always acted like he's some superstar in boxing but then gets a beating by Badou Jack who almost stopped him now acting like he's some ultra star!
Unbelievable how delusional he is, I believe the Badou Jack fight has definitely took some years off his career!
Won a world title in America vs. a top five opponent Andre Dirrell, defended the IBF in Canada, U.S.A against top and elite opponents while Groves was getting his ass kicked in the states - whats Grove done but lucked up vs. Chudinov in a early stoppage having a broken jaw IN his backyard with crooked officials.
James Degale is THE #1. super-middleweight in the world through hard work and sacrifice, daring to be great. RESPECT 'Chunky'!
Well your clearly a fan. If you think the Groves stoppage was dodgy you wanna blame Chudinov for not moving he's head or punching back. Nothing dodge about the stoppage, ref was well within he's rights. As for Chunky. He can't live off Dirrel forever, who was never that good. Who did Andre ever beat?Groves got he's arse kicked by Jack, and so did James. He struggled with a totally shot Bute. I'm tired of these fighters acting like they're superstars. Hes performances against Jack and Medina show him to be far from a star. Just have the unification and avenge your loss Init.
DeGale, who drew with Badou Jack in New York earlier this year, told The Mirror: "I was very close to fighting with Smith this summer.
So the rumours were true
Degale didn't deserve the nod over Jack, or Medina for that matter. Plus he's got a loss to Groves. What has he ever done to deserve to be the A?

I give props to DeGale for going on the road, but other than that, he hasn't looked that great since the Bute fight. However, he has faced better competition than Groves recently, so he should get at least 60% of the purse.
