That 25 pounds is a massive jump. I don't see any of the current crop of LHW moving up to CW, unless their body tells them to do so. Those guys are big. Bellew boiled himself down to make LHW, but when fighting at his more natural CW weight..he looks a completely different guy.

The jump from light heavy to cruiser is much bigger than the jump from super middle to light heavy. It's not fair on the guys around that weight really; if you're too big for 175 but too small for the best of 200, you're basically f*cked. And the jump from cruiser to heavy these days is even more extreme

If you are fighting at your best fighting weight it doesn't take courage to move up. It takes stupidity. Kovalev has no trouble making 175.Why would he move to cruiserweight to fight men 25 pounds heavier than himself? Cruiserweight is not a big money weight class or a glamour weight class. Ward isn't moving up to 200 and Stevenson and Hopkins never moved up to 200 but you don't say they were afraid. You hand pick Kovalev and use this cruiserweight BS as an excuse to trash Kovalev.

He might not have a choice soon, he has a huge frame. Easily one of the biggest Lightheavies we have seen. I think this whole overtraining thing is actually probably him getting too tight at the weight.

Was anyone calling for him to move up at Cruiseweight? He has plenty of business left at light heavy. GGG was scared of moving up to 168 though, at a time when he couldn't a fight at 160 but had a whole bunch of people calling him out a weightclass above. An 8lbs jump is nothing compared to a 25lbs one. Thats what you call scared to move up. When you are the best and the only legit challenge you can face is a weight class up. Not when you have no business moving up, might as well say Kovalev is scared of moving down while you're at it. Its just as irrelevant.
