Oscar De La Hoya was able to walk down Shane Mosley. He took Sugar's power without getting knocked out. But De La Hoya was unable to walk down Felix Trinidad. He probably would have gotten knocked out if he tried to walk Tito down.
Do you guys realize how much of a devastating power puncher Trinidad was?
A prime Fernando Vargas was unable to walk down Trinidad, even though that was his gameplan. However, after getting knocked out by Trinidad, Vargas was able to was able to walk down De La Hoya and Mosley for most of their fights before getting stopped.
Crazy.
When I think of Tito's left hook a rattle snake comes to mind. He uncoiled it from his foot to his hips to his shoulders to his fists. It was fast, it was sharp, and it had devilish intentions. Great fighter in his day.
Actually after his handwraps were discovered he got kod by Hopkins then tkod cherifi and Mayorga if u wanna count them. He couldn't punch through winky wright peekaboo defense and got retired by a already jaw broken, over the hill Roy Jones Jr. But Tito was a beast at 147Don't u think it could be that they were bigger and stronger fighters, so they could take better the punches from Tito.
Trinidad was not a cheater. That situation and Margaritos are completely different. Guys are asked to rewrap all the time. Tito did not have a plastered up pad fall out of his wraps like Tony did.
Tito had power and I'd probably be more wowed but after seeing Naseem Hamed I'm not even wowed by Tyson's power. There was something remarkable about Naseem's power in such a puny and unassuming frame. His punches literally sounded like shotgun blasts. Freakiest boxer to ever enter the ring.
one of the best punchers ever, the hardest WW puncher of my lifetime and a legit one punch knockout puncher all the way to MW.
one of my favorite left hooks ever. up there with joe frazier.
Too much is being made of the hand wraps. They were only illegally wrapped in that state, other states allowed that method of wrapping hands. Tito had legit power and one of the best left hooks in the business. Always a pleasure to watch him fight.
Well...that does it. Trinidad DID continue to knock people out. While Cherifi was supposed to be a soft touch, Mayorga meant something. He hadn't been KO'd before and Trinidad did that...even if Mayorga at his best wouldn't have survived that drubbing.
Winky was a career 154 pounder who hasn't been KO'd ever because of that knight's shield armor of a guard he puts up for 95% of his fights...and when he gets hit clean (IF), he can take the punch.
And the Roy Jones fight was senseless. Trinidad was coming off of a HUGE layoff against a much bigger fighter two weight classes ABOVE Tito's highest weight. All Tito had at that point was power and was banking on clocking Roy's dubious chin, but going that high in weight essentially blunted Tito's power.
For you youngins, this would be the equivalent of Canelo retiring today following a shutout to Austin Trout in 2011. Disappearing for 4 years, and all of a sudden coming back to fight Andre Ward.
Okay, that's an exaggeration as Jones, Jr was viewed as damaged goods by then but you see what I'm saying with the weight discrepancy?
Tito always had concussive power, his inactivity following his first loss and low amount of fights makes it seem as if power dissolved. It actually never did.
Tito kept knocking out ppl, wtf are u talking about??

I know the story thanks, i've watched a lot of this sport and to me trinidad was lucky to get away as he did because I think he was guilty of a much more serious crime.
But this is just from my personal observation, his punches didnt seem normal, from foreman, hearns, mcclelan, trinidad to is the only one who when I look at, his power seems unnatural and his gloves and the way they hit guys seems to have something solid in them. And the others guys have massive strength, speed, it adds up why they hit that hard, trinidad obviously naturally hits hard, but should not hit that hard, is my opinion, punches seem clubbing.
one thing I say about trinidad is that he doesnt use throw away punches... he wants to decapitate you..... Also dont forget about the SPEED of his punching.... super fast
think of it as newton's law of motion... your power can be generated with mass Xs acceleration etc.

You just don't want it to be true (Tito's Power). Listen I don't like lil g's HYPE but I wont lie, the boy has pop. Now would YOU say that lil g's power are fishy??

Obviously you don't know the story. That's why you're throwing out unsubstantiated and unproven accusations like the low life that you are.
Get your FACTS straight. It was only illegal where he fought Hopkins at, that's why they made him rewrap. His trainer (Nazir) even told us in an interview.

Nothing but facts in this post
I remember the fight between him and Oba Carr. Carr was game but Trinidad beat the fight out of him. It's one thing to see a fighter simply lose whether by KO or decision but to see someone beat until they don't want to fight anymore. Tito had that kind of effect.
Yes tito had a lot of power till the cast came off. What happened after the cast were gone there was no more power so yes tito did had a lot of power with plaster
Illegal wraps, probably had plaster even if he wasnt caught with it.
Watching this guys fights I have never seen such unnatural power.
proof? sources?

I enjoyed watching that video. It's been a while since i've watched anyy Tito clips. I will have to go back and revisit some of his fights, as i used to love watching him.
