Seems like a troll thread to me.
Idk what the leg would be to stand on. Are you suggesting Brook doesn't have a say or Hearn forced him into GGG & then Spence? Whats your evidence of that?
Hearn is all over the internet saying before this fight thinking it wasn't the best move so Brook vetoed him right there I know that much 100%.
no, that would be a straw man and frankly the rhetoric of somebody who doesn't undestand a ton about boxing management and administration.
B+ troll thread.
the guy isn't joking and he's got a leg to stand on in some regard. we've yet to see how brook's career will pan out, but he's almost surely going to be on the back nine after this. he'll still make money and he can get back on TV, but the chances of him being the top welterweight and top 25 p4p fighter in the world again aren't high.
hearn and brook's management could have taken an easier fight and built toward the khan fight for a lot of money in late '17 or early '18. they could have taken a fight at a catchweight to allow brook to adjust back to 147. spence, porter, thurman, pacquiao, those guys will still be fighting next year.
TS may very well be right. hearn made him a lot of money, but two tough fights in a row, dropping two weight classes, against two punches who break orbital bones on both sides of your face probably ends your career as a top fighter. i mean FFS a world class boxer just quit. the only fighter i can think of who went on to have legitimately great wins after quitting was roberto duran.
And Eddie Hearn is going to make this money grabber happen:
Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook
Glass Jaw vs. Glass Eye Sockets
Which will be the first to go? The jaw or eye socket
Lol
Like somebody said he wanted to one up Khan.
Here's the thing though. Brook was heavier than GGG on fight night and weigh in.
Khan was outweighed by 20 lbs. But GGG, relatively hits quite a bit harder and applies more pressure than Canelo, but I don't think it was that crazy. It was a gamble, not an insane gamble, but a gamble that didn't pay off.
Well, we see how good Golovkin really is, Spence is a top rated talent and he had a nevertheless very tough fight with Brook, Golovkin did a better job than Spence.
he should never have gone in with golovkin. But he did because eddie hearn is a money grabber.
It was Brook who wanted Golovkin, I do think Golovkin has ruined Brook like I previously said before the fight even happening with Spence.
he should never have gone in with golovkin. But he did because eddie hearn is a money grabber.
So you surprised that a man who chose combat sports for a living has received combat damage?
Because he has damaged his health and mentality. All because his promoter chased the £.
I simply disagree, if Brook didn't want the fight he could just have passed. He wanted attention and he got it. He has shown massive bravery, so what is not to like? Hearn is a great promoter perhaps the best, because he listens to his fighters, makes sure that they are not just some protected prospects, but really giving them (and us) the best fights.
Because he has damaged his health and mentality. All because his promoter chased the £.
the ggg fight was not a welterweight fight that anyone would have been mad at brook for passing on...or could have called him a ducker or pansy for...brook was on board with that fight totally...he wanted the money...he chased the money...his fault
but ya know....a guy like miguel cotto took savage beatings from margarito and pac(both way worse than the one brook took from golovin)...and still came back and fought top level guys and could still give it a good go....
the golovkin fight had nothing to do with what happened last night...nothing...if you are trying to link them then you are a desperate golovkin or brook fanboy
spence just beat brook plain and simple
Kell Brook wanted the fight. We got a good fight, why are you such a whiner?
Complaining about fighters taking risks, jeeezzus.
Because he has damaged his health and mentality. All because his promoter chased the £.
FOCK this wannabe excuse about golovkin...golovkin didnt ruin brook..AT ALL....and it was a huge leap nobody would have expected brook to take in the first place...brook took it
what ruined brooks career was spence....spence touched up that healthy eye and took brooks heart
I am not really logical person when it comes to sport, but even i could see that? Taking the Golovkin fight was a amateurish move by Eddie Hearn! He gave in to the pressure of online boxing fans. Your number 1 priority as a boxing promoter is to protect your fighter, and take BIG risk at the right time! (There was absolutely no need to take such a massive risk and fight Golovkin! Kell Brook at that time in his career was world champion, undefeated plus he had a element of mystery about him! people within the boxing world where not sure how good he was? and sometimes in terms of marketability this is a good attribute to have! But the most important attribute Kell Brook embodied was complete arrogance within his boxing ability!
This was all destroyed during the Golovkin fight, and i am not sure whether this something a fighter can regain totally! (I am not sure whether he has sustained a injury to his damage eye again?).
I was just coming on here to make this exact thread! Absolutely right he has, Brook is now physically and mentally damaged goods, and all that's left for him is a Khan money fight. Even that has lost a fair amount of its sparkle now as Khan has been running for so long.
I said that when the Golovkin fight was announced.
Hearn sold him down the river then turned around and done the same to Bellew, who got very lucky, and Allen to a lesser degree.
Brook is going to struggle with 12 rounds at 147 moving forward. He's not going to have the energy at that weight to keep up what he does over the distance. Brook was 5-1 or 4-2 up at the halfway point and slowed drastically.
Brook called out GGG on ifl and Bellew in a post fight interview demanded the Haye fight and followed it up all the following week how is either Hearn selling them down the river. Both fights were the biggest of their careers and the fight they wanted pretty much exactly what Hearn is paid to do.
Was never about giving the fans the best fight. Was always about making £££ like it always is with him.
He fought a guy 2 weight classes above him that was known as the fiercest puncher on the planet.
Risked his fighters health for £££.
That's hearn for ya.
Kell Brook wanted the fight. We got a good fight, why are you such a whiner?

he should never have gone in with golovkin. But he did because eddie hearn is a money grabbing jerk.
Agreed. He made the ggg fight for the money. Then he puts him in a fight where he has to lose a good or of weight against a top guy with big power. I guess he makes the khan fight next.
Wasnt a war tested warrior like barrera was against Pac. But Pac critics like to say Barrera had been in wars so was past prime? When in actual fact Barrera was prime when he lost to Pac. Being in wars dont make you past prime, it may shorten your career though.
But you are right it makes you battle tested and proven.
Barrera had a metal plate in his head man
