Congratulations Errol on becoming IBF world champion. He put the final nail in the coffin for Brook, which is the way boxing works.
What is clear, is that Spence will be kayoed in the end by a right hand, and he will end up punchdrunk. No Sugar Ray here.
Don't get me wrong, I like his style and I look forward to his next fight. Because he will bring excitement.
But he just walked into right hand after right hand, so he got hurt and had to take a round off. Then he roared back again. I mean he ate them all night, it looked terrible.
Also he lacked a jab going in, even a casual I know wondered why he didn't use a jab.
Alas, the welterweight still belongs to blown-up, short JWs. So for me growing up with Quartey, Trinidad, Forrest, De La Hoya, Whitaker, Mayorga; later on Margarito, Williams, this division looks like crap. But I will watch Spence again. The others are just wannabes with no heart for boxing. No legends.
He's a southpaw, he's going to eat right hands. Same as right handed fighters are going to catch sturdy left hands from southpaws. It's boxing basics.
Also, you're saying Spence didn't jab? Lol

Looked at post count and join date. Lol....
So he took the right hand or chocolate brownies that everyone wanted him to take, so that they could tell if he has a chin but no it's "He was exposed?" IMHO credit to him because he was a prospect in there last night. He would learn fight by fight and the older he gets the less aggressive he would be, when you have a fighter that attacks the way Spence does, it means he would also get a few punches plant on his face. If he didn't have a chin those right hands would have dropped him last night.
Brook was a solid world champ, known for his great right hand, and now Spence is exposed?? This was never going to be a cakewalk. He was going to eat that right hand. We all knew that going in.
Spence passed the test though by not buckling, but actually coming on stronger and finishing the guy.
Also, how did you not see the jab?? That was a big thing in the first few rounds. Spence would throw the jab and slip back to avoid the counter. It looked like a cobra/mongoose thing. Later, Spence was using the jab to set up the bombs he was hitting Brook with.
If you think he'll have trouble with the right in the future, fair enough. But, are you really looking at this objectively? Or, looking for something to critique?
