It's definitely now part of the match room build up to the headline fight.
Last 5 match room fights I've been to all have the following before the fight
Seven nation army
Free from desire
Jump around
Song 2
Sweet caroline.
That song seems to be getting a second wind recently. I was in a beer garden on Friday and that came on and everyone around me went a bit crazy all at once haha. Lifting cheers over their heads and dancing.
Was fun watching buffer really enjoying it and dancing in the ring while sweet Caroline is on... it's fun but god it's a crap song when you think about it
I did a search on instagram before for #SweetCaroline and watched the videos posted up. The atmosphere looked good, and Buffer looked to be getting in on it :lol1:

Do different promoters do this with different songs?
I've noticed that Frank Warren has been trying to recreate it with Hi Ho Silver Lining on his BT Sport shows
Personally I like it, it's just a bit of fun. Drunken sing-alongs are as British as fish and chips
If i'm not mistaken, Hearn and Matchroom do the darts over here as well. Other guys will be able to tell you more about that than me as i'm not a darts fan.
I think they have a similar set up with songs that try get the crowd's spirits lifted.
They try to make it a fun night out etc to get people to come back.
Yeah think they started with snooker, boxing, darts. Doing something now with gymnastics. Seem to have a knack with repopularising sports
Lol, beat me to it
Haha :ANYWORD:
it is a good song that one. Play a catchy song like that to a crowd of mostly pissed up people and you get them singing along in no time :lol1:
Thats a better one & yea I do hear that a lot with UK shows.

Now you mention it, i haven't really noticed guys like Frank Warren ect use songs like that i don't think mate.
I think it's something Hearn has done well when selling his fights. He has made his cards into a kind of 'night out'.
So those songs, the feeling create a buzz and atmosphere. There's a lot of people going to the boxing now who haven't been before as they see it on tv, think it looks fun and want to get involved.
Hearn has been pretty clever about how he's sold his shows via SKY. He can appeal to casual fans, while Boxnation just seems to say 'here is the fights we've got..now watch them'' :lol1:. I do love boxnation though to be fair.

Noticed that Chance the Rapper tune gets played a lot in the US, had to Shazaam that one, lol
Last Wilder fight it got played, chuckled to myself. Nothing whips up the crowd better than Sweet Caroline, but youve gotta follow it up with 7 Nation Army, game on after those 8 minutes, forever intertwinned
