I'd like to know everyones opinion...GGG has a fight with Canelo looming and Im sure Thurman will fight Porter or the winner of Brook/ Spence next
both have are unified titlist in their respective divisions and should be considered # 1 until they are beaten.
discuss!!!!
Tough question..
I think ggg is a more skilled fighter
But Thurman has put together an outstanding resume with wins over ghost, Porter, Danny, etc
I rank golovkin higher, simply because I feel he is a higher caliber of fighter
How is ggg more skilled. Thurman can fight going backwards, has better defense, better at creating angles and has a pretty good chin like ggg. Only thing ggg has an advantage on is cutting off the ring, better jab, and power. Thurman has more tools.
Thurman is higher, beating porter and Garcia is bigger than 1 fight that goloofkin scraped by in Jacobs....not to mention that the WW division is much more stacked than MW as of this moment.
Neither should be ranked. GGG was exposed when he met a guy who was as talented as himself and was bigger. He still a great fighter. Just think he took to long to get to the USA. He's getting old now.
Thurman in my opinion isn't that great. I think either old PAC or old Mayweather would whip him. BUT IF THEY WERE IN THERE PRIME?
Also think Thurman would be whipped by both Spence or Brook.
I really like Crawford. Think he could whip all of them if he was just 2 inches taller. He still might be able to do it.

He did school him better. Let me ask you who has the better resume right now and who has shown more versatility and skill?
Hilarious. And that fact is lemieux is levels above bundu and is a much better fighter and yet ggg stopped him while thurman ran and backed up the whole fight and got walked by a midget journeyman. Not too mention his face was banged up.
WTF? I can't take anything you say seriously after that comment. You don't know **** about boxing period. Thurman back peddaled the whole fight and his face was a mess after the fight. GGG stopped lemieux and hardly got touched and held his own in the center of the ring. Lol at thurman schooling bundu better than ggg with lemieux.

Footwork is a wash to me. Ggg may have slightly better balance but Thurman has faster feet plus he is better at creating angles. Let's not forget Thurman is the best at fighting off the backfoot. Thurman schooled bundu way better than ggg schooled Lemiux.

Not even close. GGG cuts the ring off better, better footwork, has a much better jab, better combos, etc. It's not even a competition. Bundu backed thurman up for 12 rounds and if you pressure thurman he can't hold his ground in the middle of the ring.

I think it's fair to say Thurman is more skilled than Golovkin. I think ill give the edge to ggg though

He has a better resume than most and he is most skilled
Lomachenko is skilled, there is no denying that. Most skilled? I can't judge that based on the opposition he has fought. He doesn't have a defining career win unlike the guys on my list. The big names he has on his resume are either the weakest link of their division (Roman Martinez, Jason Sosa), or hasn't done much in the weight division he fought them in (Gary Russell Jr., Nicholas Walters). Not to mention that loss to Salido... Now if he were to fight and win against either Orlando Salido, Mikey Garcia, Jorge Linares, or any of the other top guys at superfeatherweight (though this is unlikely considering how busy the weight class is), then I'd put him on the list. Right now though, it's too early to put him there, let alone top 5.

I feel that Lomachenko hasn't done anything yet to deserve p4p status. He has a loss to Salido that he has yet to avenge, he hasn't beat any of the top superfeatherweights yet, and he's very early in his career. I'll feel more comfortable adding him to my list next year, when he has more notable wins. He may be a visual spectacle to behold, but his record isn't as good as everybody else on my list.

Loma should at least be top 5

Jacobs and canelo are way tougher opponents than porter and Garcia you're naive as hell.
he hasn't beat canelo yet, which is why I give Thurman the edge, if he beats canelo then ill give him the edge. Jacobs resume is nowhere near danny Garcia, its not even better than porters.... it was a good win and sadly the best of his pro career.... don't understand why I have to be naïve because we don't see eye to eye but ok
I'll give the edge to Golovkin since he has reigned as the best of his division longer and for his win against Jacobs. My p4p list is as follows:
1.) Ward (good resume, got decision over Kovalev, good fighter)
2.) Kovalev (almost got decision over Ward, dominant light-heavyweight for a while)
3.) GGG (beat Jacobs, dominant middleweight for a while)
4.) Crawford (Gamboa, Postol unification, toyed with Diaz)
5.) Chocolatito (should have won against Rungvisai, fantastic resume)
6.) Thurman (beat Porter and got decision against Garcia, which is impressive in of itself)
7.) Canelo (solid names on his resume)
8.) Yamanaka (best bantamweight right now)
9.) Inoue (destroyed best guy at super fly, has been dominant since)
10.) Rigondeaux (only this low due to inactivity, which isn't his fault)
Loma should at least be top 5

I think of it this way... If you're the man in your division then you're a top P4P fighter.. Or if you have a legacy built and are still considered a top fighter.. I'm not familiar with the tiny guys like 107 lbs, those are mostly some Japanese fellas who are smaller than my 10 year old son so don't really figure they'd be P4P.
Rigo was clearly the best at 122, everyone jumped ship to avoid him
126 you have Frampton,Leo,Russel Jr, Selby as champs. Nobody stands out to me of those 4 as being dominant.
130 Lomachenko has looked amazing recently, still doesn't have the big name wins but skills wise he's amazing
135 Garcia is a great fighter, had a long layoff unfortunately but he's coming back strong
140 is all Bud Crawford, maybe the best fighter in the game
147 PAC,Thurman, Brook, Spence, Garcia, Porter. Right now Thurman is the man but next weeks fight may prove that wrong depending on how one of them win it. PAC obviously has the legendary career and still shows he can beat anyone not on the absolute elite level
154 Andrade,Lara,Charlo,Hurd ehhh they're all good but besides Hurd I'd say the other 3 would be in 50-50 fights against each other.
160 Canelo,Jacobs,GGG. Right now GGG is the man but Canelo brings the decent resume up with him
168. Nobody matters here
175 Ward and Kovalev. Probably deserve to be numbers 1-2 P4P
-200 nobody matters right now. Some good young guys but still early for them
Heavyweight. Nobody P4P but some great match ups ahead if the champs stay undefeated in the next year or so.
I'd go
1. Kovalev only because I had him winning by a point
2. Ward
3. Lomachenko based on skill set if they all were same size
4. Crawford... Kid is dynamite in the ring
5. GGG ...getting older but still undefeated and a great fighter
6. Thurman.. Good wins in the last year and willing to fight anyone it seems
7. Canelo.. Has a couple good names on his resume albeit disputed in people's minds. Looks to be getting better but he's faced some sub par competitors since Lara
8. Rigo...just doesn't fight nearly enough.
9. Roman Gonzales.. Great little man but bit off more than he could chew at that weight class even though I thought he won that fight you can see he's way too small there.
10. Pacquiao ...lost to Floyd and Marquez in like the last 10 years. 2 hall of famers and one of them the best of this era. Still shows he can beat guys easily that are young champions maybe not elite level though. Still deserves to be in here
I'm probably missing someone off the top of my head.... Agree or disagree?
