I don't disagree with most of that. Brooks opposition for a long time was poor, nobody can dispute that but since he got a title shot against Porter, if you consider he was given some poor mandatories and been stabbed, then nobody can argue he's getting in the ring with some top opposition too. 3 of his last 6 fights include Errol Spence, Porter, and Golovkin. Brook did fight some poor opposition for years but has since proven that when he's stepped up, he's not been backing away from genuine challenges and that's what matters. Everyone has different routes to world level, some fast, some slow, some difficult and some easy and there's probably a million and one reasons for that, but a real respectable fighter doesn't shy away from challenges once they get there and Brook hasn't. I never discredited Khan for getting in the ring with Canelo, but the thing is Khan rarely fights now and feels entitled to big fights. He avoided fighting anybody and remained inactive incase it ruined a potential fight with Floyd or Manny. So that's my issue with Khan even before the Canelo fight was announced. He's essentially made himself become irrelevant instead of active because he feels he's entitled to big fights. It's just a shame because Khan hasn't always been that way, just in the past 3-4 years. I get it though, we all know he's always a good punch away from being stopped and potentially ruining big plans. To be honest, one of the things i used to like about Khan was that he had balls. Everyone knew he might not be able to take a good shot and can be stopped but he used to be willing to fight anybody. I just find it disappointing the way things have changed when it comes to Khan because he would be a good addition to the WW division but he isn't willing to get in the mix right now. I personally can't be as forgiving towards Brook as you can and I don't buy those mandatory excuses (which were a convenient reason for them to wait safely until the Khan showdown eventually came their way). And some are happy to use the stabbing excuse for him being inactive and not fighting the best, yet won't afford that same leniency to Khan when he had hand surgeries and sent on wild goose-chases by Mayweather and Pacquiao. Brook is actually telling the truth, most causal fans pay to watch Khan get KTFO. And Khan is happy to take their $$$ so everyone gets what they want!

I And if you’re gonna’ give Brook credit for stepping up in fighting GGG, why won’t you give credit to Khan for stepping up and fighting Canelo? I disagree with that somewhat, but not totally. Brook has had some soft touches since beating Porter, but that's no thanks to the IBF enforcing rubbish mandatories, plus he had a career threatening stabbing. At least Brook went and fought Porter when Porter was very hyped at the time and seen to be very dangerous at WW, just go back on this forum for proof. Now he's fighting the supposed most dangerous up and coming WW when he probably could have vacated and gone to 154 and had a valid excuse that he can't make 147 after going to 160. He also did fight Golovkin when others were avoiding him, yeah he got paid well but he still did it. People say Khan fighting Canelo was similar, it was, but Canelo has never been an avoided fighter like GGG. Lol at the guys comparing Khan to Brook. Khan prostituted himself for money vs Canelo; he took the fight without a whisper of a hope to win, considering he was never going to hurt or KO Canelita, and the judges cards are always filled in advance with her. He endured a Hattonesque KO that would end the career of many titlists. In contrast, welterweight Brook did what 16 KO middleweights/super middles couldn't in title fights, and that's hurting and buckling Gennady's knees. His stock went up sky high without getting blown away to smithereens like Khan did. I don't see Khan asking for a return with Canelo, like Brook just did with GGG. Brook's career took off, while Khan's pretty much ended.
