Why am I still paying for HBO?
I pay $15 a month for HBO streaming, and I have HBO pretty much only for boxing. Through June I will have paid $90 to get the following (# means title fights):
Takashi Miura vs. Mickey Roman
#Francisco Vargas vs. Miguel Berchelt
David Lemieux vs. Curtis Stevens / Gamboa vs. Alvarado
#Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jason Sosa / Usyk-Hunter / Gvozdyk-Gonzalez
#Terence Crawford vs. Felix Diaz / Beltran vs. Maicelo
$90 for NINE fights (3 title fights). That's it. That's $10 for every fight HBO shows.
Now I don't want to start an HBO vs. Showtime debate - I have no allegiance to either and I really don't understand why some people do - I just want to see good boxing.
I pay $11 a month to stream Showtime and I only watch boxing. Through June I will have paid $66 to get the following:
#Badou Jack vs. James DeGale / #Pedraza vs. Davis
#Frampton vs. Santa Cruz / #Zlaticanin vs. Garcia
Broner vs. Granados / #Avanesyan vs. Peterson / Browne vs. Williams
#Garcia vs. Thurman / Lubia vs. Cota
#Linares vs. Crolla II
Berto vs. Porter / #Charlo vs. Hatley
#Joshua vs. Klitschko
#Davis vs. Walsh
#Russell vs. Escandon / Dirrell vs. Uzcategui / Barthelemy vs. Rilikh
#Brook vs. Spence
#Stevenson vs. Fonfara / Alvarez vs. Pascal
$66 for TWENTY fights (12 title fights). Plus Extreme fights plus ShoBox fights.
As a boxing fan, isn't the best thing to do drop HBO, keep Showtime for boxing, and buy the better PPVs?
Crawford and Loma twice a year and not much else doesn't seem worth the price of an HBO subscription.

I agree, at this point I wish HBO would just drop boxing and let SHO be the network to have for boxing
But our PPVs are $70 (about 50 pounds) instead of 16 pounds for Sky PPV.
We still pay more, $300 for the first 6 months of this year plus 3 PPVs, comes to about $375. Yours $150 subscription plus 2 PPVs, $290.
He's asking about boxing fans. People who are subbed for boxing. He specifically says BOXING FANS. Couldn't have made it any clearer. But you aren't too smart so you didn't get it.
Take your L like Andre ward bout to and get off my sack hbo = game of thrones and I'm not the only one talking about it here clown.

Consider yourself lucky. Here in the UK we have to buy Sky...then pay extra for HD then extra for the sports package and THEN extra for a PPV and THEN because we don't get showtime and only have between BTSport and Boxnation pay for their services. Americans have it great to be fair, no country restrictions...no need for proxy avoidance....thousands of sports channels...HBO is 100% quality with its TV shows, and the prices you quoted are peanuts to what we pay over here. ****, even our netflix is inferior compared to Americans.
I'm just pointing out how stupid you are. You do it in every topic. Ignore the point of the topic and write some dumb sh*t
That is the point of the topic you dumbass he's asking why he's still subbed to hbo with the sub par boxing events, you slow and on my nuts.
You never read posts you just come in and start typing. His post specifically says "AS A BOXING FAN" wtf does Game of Thrones have to do with this?
You still hurt :lol1: he's talking about being subbed to hbo and I dropped facts why you mad doe
I love HBO for the boxing and lots of other good movies and shows. It's part of my direct TV package along with Showtime and other boxing and MMA channels. I never buy fights. I wait a week and watch the same fight for free.
Yikes. In NZ, basic Sky (50 odd garbage channels) plus Sky Sport - no Sky Movies and other plus plus channels - is $104.80 NZD per month. Then PPV's range between $40-50.
Damn is that it, costs $50 a month for Sky Sports and Boxnation, UK pays double. Enough money left over for 2 PPVs. See its nonsense we pay less. Then we have to pay for PPVs on top of that.

Maybe after Game of thrones ends this year HBO will have a bigger budget for boxing especially now that it's perceived that boxing is "BACK". (Whatever that means)
