Floyd Mayweather Jr, the man perhaps most famously known for avoiding the Khan fight on several occasions 🏃, accidentally mocks his own fighter Gervonta Davis in front of his next opponent, Liam Walsh. When passed the records of both fighters to examine, he discredits Davis' former opponent Hector Lopez as he mistakenly assumes that it was one of Walsh's previous opponents. After realising his mistake, Mayweather hangs his head in embarrassment trying to recompose himself.
"Who the fu*k is Hector Lopez! We don't care about that!"
@21:50
Yeah I saw this, lol.
As a promoter you'd think he'll have to be more respectful or he'll just burn bridges. Not that his contemporaries don't burn bridges all the time but he could have a profitable outlet by dealing with Warren, Hearn, and even the Sauerlands. He has a unique opportunity to not be so America-centric that the more established promoters in the US don't have. And he's Floyd so he could add a bit of glitz to fighters far less talented than Davis.
It was funny, not dumb. Davis been with uncle Al since 2014, when Davis had fought Hector Lopez. Davis wasn't even signed with Floyd yet nor introduced until 2015. I can't imagine Oscar knowing his roster of his fighters' opposition by heart. but it was funny doe
It was funny BECAUSE it was dumb. Don't mock your opponent's opposition unless you're certain it's actually their opposition.
What a tw*t Mayweather is. He just can't stop talking about his own achievements.
Unless he's going to get in there & tag-team Walsh with Davis it's totally irrelevant! He's not even training 'his' guy, he's the promoter :alcoholic
