Am I the only one who feels bad for Canelo?
He has fought a grand total of ZERO fights to prepare him for GGG, despite knowing since at least 2015 that GGG would be the next big hurdle in front of him.
Instead he decided to bring Cotto down, bring up a chinless welterweight, bring down a nobody and fight over 160 against a somebody who cant fight worth a damn.
Way too much time wasted at Caneloweight. He wont be acclimated to 160 and wont be acclimated to fighting MWs.
Why didnt they prepare Canelo specifically for GGG???
GGG looked so happy like a kid in a candy store. Like a 40 year old spending a night with an 18 year old hottie. Canelo looked like he was forced into this.
Couldn't agree more laugh out loud. GGG was like come September these fans and all the people watching at home are going to know who I am after I punish Connello for making me wait for 2 years. Connello be like not this **** again no more belt to give up and no more excuses to the Mexican fans in attendance pride was on the line again. No more duck duck goose. Time to fight.
for the first time canelo will be facing a true strong middleweight. if canelo thinks he can lay on the ropes with GGG like he did against guys like kirkland and now chavez jr. he will have a rude awakening. GGG is going to mercilessly break canelo down and stop him in the mid to late rounds. canelo doesnt have the stamina or defense to last 12 hard rounds against GGG. IT'S OVEER!!!!!hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
And you also believe that Trump is a man of the working class. Fighting for the rights of the poor?

Who the **** do you fight to prepare for GGG? Jacobs fought The Latin snake before GGG and he did extremely well.

Im not talking about the GGG fight. Damn right Im glad its made.
Im talking about the matchmaking prior to GGG. Something that would prepare Canelo for him better then Khan or Chavez would.
Money grabs were more important to team Connello than preparation for 160 class and GGG.
I like Canelo, but I don't feel bad for him. He chose his opponents and avoided the unavoidable. He should have faced real middleweights since, you know, he won the middleweight title. Anyone else would have. So, no. No sympathy on that.
I hear you, except that I dont think Canelo has a say on who he fights and at what weight. I think thats all on GBP's matchmakers. I blame them.
They did us fight fans a favor doe.

Not a fan of Canelo or GGG but I do know Golovkin needs to win by ko cos no way he gets the nod vs a guy who got a draw from one judge vs Mayweather despite losing almost every round
Oscar has his whole company riding on Canelo generating big PPV numbers you really think he will allow a fighter from another promoter to take that away easily?
results post mayweather- ko against shot limited bum angulo, controversial win against lara, KO against glass chinned bum kirkland (who ishida knocked out), KO against glass chinned welterweight who had been ko'd by a bum at lightweight, KO against a bum who had literally fought nobody, UD against the ghost of miguel cotto who hasnt had a good win against an uninjured opponent for 9 years, UD against a weight drained walking corpse who didnt look like he wanted to be there = 'THIS IS CANELO V 2.0 HES IMPROVED SO MUCH AFTER LOSING EVERY ROUND TO MAYWEATHER!!!!' GGG is a massive step up from the clowns canelos been fighting, people have got a shock in store in september, canelos been fighting at a real low opposition level these last few years, hes not improved at all.
And still a better resume than your love interest (g string)
How does the #2 guy in a division prepare for the #1 guy (or vice versa)? Who even fights like GGG lower in the rankings to "get Canelo ready" supposedly?
I'm picking Canelo to win btw. I thought Canelo was winning 1.5yrs, 2yrs ago at this point when they started seriously talking about this fight & all that's changed is GGG got a lil past his prime (35yrs now) + looked a lil more human in a couple fights making it all the more clearer to me that Canelo wins. Granted I think Canelo has fought a bunch of garbage opponents in the meantime, but I don't see it reflecting negatively on him vs GGG cuz he's a guy who always seems to fight at 100% whoever he's in there with & if he doesn't know how to beat GGG today he won't know tomorrow to hijack Egis' line.
I wish I could call Canelo the #2 guy in the division. At this point his only experience at MW is draining guys he shouldnt have drained.
When i read the title about feeling bad for Connello, I thought you were going to refer about how right after the fight. They put GGG in the ring and didn't let Connello bask in his glory for battle of Mexico. Connello face said it all like he was disrespected that Oscar used that platform to hype the next fight even more. I don't think GBP let him know what was going to happen the look on his face said it all. Look at the pictures also with GGG.
Nah, Im just saying his management team did him no favors with the matchmaking.

Why didnt they prepare Canelo specifically for GGG???
Obviously, the more fights a fighter gets when moving up in weight, the better acclimated that fighter will be. But Canelo forced himself into this situation by spazzing out during the PR disaster after the Khan fight.
I personally feel 3 or more fights is the best way for a fighter to prepare when moving up to a new weight class.
And I think Canelo should fight Lemmy at 160 before he takes on GGG in Sept.
