My opinion is Chavez looked horrible and Alvarez refused to take advantage of it. Chavez was a man looking for a reason to quit, a man ready to be stopped, but Alvarez refused to close the show or step on the gas.
Then you listen to Alvarez's trainers (the butcher boys) and the terrible advice they give him. Telling Alvarez to take 0 chances, to not risk getting hit, to not take Chavez out. These 2 trainers say the very same thing every Alvarez fight. As if they have no confidence in Alvarez to take a punch or take a risk. These 2 guys know nothing about boxing they go lucky and won the lottery by Alvarez choosing them as his trainers. The amateurish things they say in the corner to Alvarez, the 0 risk they want him to take. As if they are afraid their meal ticket will get ko'd.
I always said these trainers are not allowing Alvarez to grow as a fighter. Alvarez should of stopped Chavez tonight, but he refused to close the show.
I actually like a trainer that concentrates on one fighter. For butchers they sure did well against a hall of fame trainer in Nacho.
So if they have only trained 1 fighter their whole career then how did they learn to be trainers? They are not former fighters, nor did they train anyone prior to meeting Canelo. So how is it they are qualified? They met Canelo, he asked if they would train them, they saw a meal ticket closed their butcher store and all of a sudden they are training in the big leagues of boxing.
Th answer is they have 0 experience and that is why Canelo looks the same way as he did 5 yrs ago. He basically trains himself.
This is no different than Paul Williams former trainer, just because he trained Paul in the amateurs he became his pro trainer even though he was not remotely qualified and when Williams needed help in the corner there was none to be found.
1) tyson is a lunatic and unstable.
2) ''youre gonna get caught with something stupid.'' that can be said about a guy going for broke WHEN THEY DONT HAVE TOO !!!! yeah, give a guy the only chance they have at winning by SLUGGING WITH HIM (ESPECIALLY when the guy is a slugger !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). snatch defeat from the jaws of victory :lol1:
3) no SIGNIFICANT difference between 12 lopsided rds or a ko/tko. just a bitter ''fight'' fan who wishes a guy would give his hero a chance at victory by getting caught in the CHAMPIONSHIP RDs.
BTW Manny said that in response to letting the fight go on longer than it has too. Meaning the longer the fight goes on it gives Tyson a chance to land something big, so take em out to not give him that chance. U know that if u listened carefully, but it does not suit your pig headed opinion so you try ad twist what Manny said in the corner.

taylor vs spinks
Taylor easily winning every rd, but Manny expects more, wants a ko. U asked for examples i can give u dozens. By the way I am a Canelo fan, not a Chavez fan. My examples prove I was right and you were wrong about your assertions. There is a difference bcuz on a fighters record its says a decision or ko, you dumb ass.
Its hard to respond to your posts, not because your responses are convincing its having to see that disgusting pic u have up.

Lewis vs Tyson
Manny Steward in between rd 5 and 6, Lewis already dominating Tyson. Manny implores with Lewis to take him out. This after Lewis easily winning every rd. Manny in between rd 6-7 Manny saying there is no need for this guy to be still around. This is after Lewis easily wins the rd.
At least Floyd has some1 with experience and wisdom in boxing in his corner. Canelo's trainers former jobs before working for Canelo was working at a butcher shop. They have 0 experience in boxing before meeting Canelo. They have never trained any other fighters other than Canelo. And when they have been approached to train other fighters they have refused saying Canelo is the only fighter they are interested in training. They are a bunch of ass kissing yes men that Canelo has in his corner giving him conflicting advice that goes against the kind of fighter he is.

I think he's at a level like Floyd was that he doesn't really need trainers, he sees things very well in the ring and adjusts well
This. I dont think canelo really listens to thier gameplans as much as everyone thinks. Hes a smart fighter and knows what to do himself. They just are their to help him and have his back basically.
:haha:
wtf does an avi have to do with anything ?!?!?!?
if thats the case, your avi suits you !
btw, if you havent noticed, theres no one here backing your bright idea :lol1:
log off
Or is that u in your profile. Oh man that is sick. Is that what u are into. Your a man-child living in your parents basement aren't you. A 50 year old virgin.
Totally agree with you here, he does his own thing at this level now. The only time we would probably see his corner having more input would be if he was in trouble like Mayweather was against Mosley in their fight (2nd round).

this guy would have been the 1st one here SCREAMING at canelo for getting caught with something STUPID and gktfo :lol1: !!!!!!!!!!
God you are a moron, some1 with a profile pic like yours has to be a total retard. BTW better to get advice from an online trainer than from 2 guys who's previous jobs before meeting Canelo was working at a butcher shop. They have 0 experience in boxing before meeting Canelo, they are so inept that they even refuse to train other fighters.

sergio almost shltted away his fight with the bum. too much at stake for canelo to take the advice of this online trainer of the year.
But this is not the same Chavez that fought Martinez. This was a washed up Chavez that had nothing to offer. Everyone keeps saying why take a risk. My reply to that is there was little to no risk tonight from Chavez. Alvarez would of risked very little bu going for a ko or throw enough punches for a tko.
BTW, does your Dad take offense of you putting a photo of him up on your profile?
Why take risks when the guy was winning by a landslide?
It's romantic and all but totally unnecessary and unprofessional
People can rag on Jnr all they like IMO but once the fight was made, Canelo simply did what he had to do
Unprofessional, that is ridiculous. If the guy is ready to be ko'd you ko him. Simple. Matthysse did it tonight and Lemieux tried very hard to do it. That is what makes a boxer become a star. Imagine if Mike Tyson had the attitude your are suggesting. I guess this is the Floyd Mayweather effect on fans., the "just do enough" attitude.
''you gotta throw punches.''
MUCH DIFFERENT THAN
''you have to go for the ko. get in there and knock that guy out !!!!''
next
It is the same thing, you are nitpicking. Taylor was easily winning the fight and Manny wanted him to ko him and make a statement. Manny was never satisfied with just going rounds he was wanted his fighters to look impressive and win by ko. Yes, even when they were ahead in rds. You must know know much about Steward he is known for not letting his fighters coast because he could not trust the judging and he expected great fighters to do great things. So far Canelo is a very good fighter but he has to have some impresive ko's vs better opposition to be great.
OK, JUST TO MAKE SURE WERE ON THE SAME PAGE;
dawson was CLEARLY winning the fight and THE ONLY WAY HE COULD LOSE IS BY KO, and manny URGED HIM TO GO FOR THE KO ?
Here this may satisfy you.

seriously, what difference does it make, a ko or 12 rd shut out ?!?!?!
PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS SEE NO DIFFERENCE !
It makes a huge difference. When Manny Paq stepped up to fight De La hoya he stopped him, when he fought Cotto he stopped him, just last week Joshua stepped up and stopped Vladimir. SO far Alvarez has not been able to make such a statement. He could not do it against Mosley, he could not do it against Cotto, nor tonight. And he has the punching power to do it. His trainers are holding him back. All you have to do is listen to what they say to him in the corner of every fight.
point me to that fight where manny urged on his guy, who was CLEARLY WAY AHEAD ON THE CARDS, to go for the ko.
Go look at fight when Steward trained Chad Dawson, Dawson was easily winning and Emmanuel was pleading with him to end the fight. Just check some of his Vladimir fights you will see the same or Lewis fights.
He's a top level fighter that's got better with every fight, they are doing their job.
Not fighting dumb is a good thing.
He looks the same to me as he did 2 or 3 yrs ago. I guess I come from a different generation of fight fans where one expects a great fighter to close the show, not always want to minimize risk. BTW you want to minimize risk when your opponent is dangerous and risky. Chavez was a corpse out there looking for an excuse to quit and Alvarez should of been able to oblige him.
If he would of ko'd Chavez with GGG watching it would of gotten into GGG's head.
