I'm surprised Boxinscene did not provide any photos or even a mention of the weights for Joseph Parker vs Razvan Cojanu
I know Parker weighed 245.8 pounds and Cojanu 274.8 pounds
Surprised not even a mention of it. I mean Parker is the WBO Heavyweight Champion, he's a key player in the division.
Does anyone have any photos of the weigh in or video to share for those who did not see them both at the weigh in?
But we can look at the computerized rankings of the IBO to get a sense for where someone truly stands worldwide. Parker's opponent is the 79th best heavyweight in the world according to the unbiased computerized rankings.
Please find me a recent example of a heavyweight ranked that poorly getting a shot at the WBC, super WBA or IBF world heavyweight title? You can't.
Of the last two WBO "world" heavyweight title fights, one was shown on tape delay in America and the other was not shown at all. The weigh in wasn't even covered by the press services. It's a wBOGUS championship and boxing would be a lot better off if fans revolted against the WBO so we could return back to three champions per division, which resulted in undisputed champions far more often.
I don't have a problem with 4 title belts. Anything more than that would be too much. The problem people have is the way the bodies conduct themselves in making it hard to have an undisputed champion. It was difficult at times when there were 3 also. Remember it started with the WBA first, and very quickly after the WBC came into the picture, then the IBF in the early 80's and then recently in the mid 2000's the WBO came in to the picture. WBO actually derived from the WBA.
4 is fine as long as the champs can fight each other with out issue. But this is boxing and they want their money. In an ideal world I would prefer just 1 champion. The way it's supposed to be. But now you've got these organizations creating belts within their own organization, Super Champ, Regular Champ, Interim Champ, etc....it's ridiculous, it's all about extortion and getting that money. All the organizations are bogus. To think otherwise is rubbish.
You do know why there was a tape delay for Parker vs Ruiz right? New Zealand is like 16 hours ahead of U.S. time or something to that effect. I've seen Cotto, Canelo and other stars fight for the WBO belt and it being on HBO prime time or just prime time in general. The WBO belt has nothing to do with a tape delay on fights or why fights aren't shown. We've seen many stars on TV and cable fight for the WBO belt in prime time or any time. And it's the same for all of the sanctioning bodies. But in any event..........
Lol, all of the orginazations are bogus bro. WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC. They're all patterned after each other. The fact of the matter is that there are 4 recognized sanctioning bodies. Ring Magazine, ESPN and Boxrec have more legit rankings than the 4 sanctioning bodies.
But ok, so we agree to disagree. I'm good with that.
Let's just leave it at that. We can agree to disagree on this matter.
Honest question bro ... Are u related OR affiliated with anyone with any financial interest in the fight ? Or just a huge Parker fan ?
Just a fan of wanting to see a resurgence in the Heavyweight division with competition, depth and talent. It would be a big boost for boxing and help elevate boxing.
But with the way this fight turned out, meh. Parker is just looking like a paper title holder now rather than a serious contender to Joshua or Wilder. But hopefully some other contenders will rise like Luis Ortiz, Jarrell Miller, etc....
All those alphabet organizations opponent rankings don't make any sense. Only on very few occasions do any of the alphabet orginazations get it right.
All of them WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO

hahahaha c'mon dude, you can't ignore that this horrible opponent was ranked by the WBO and nobody else . . .
when was the last time the #79 heavyweight in the world fought for the WBC, Super WBA or IBF world heavyweight title?

I live in NZ and I am furiously looking for a stream for the fight lol...
When Parker won the title vs Ruiz I didn't really care. WBO to me is the least important title. Just an immunity idol.
Also, Duco and Parker need to go their separate ways. I mean, I paid for the Joshua/Klitchko fight and what their asking for, for Parkers fight is near double???
Ruining interest for fans by shutting them out of fights because of pricing... even the replay for Canelo/Chavez is free!
Think that would ever happen for a WBC, Super WBA or IBF world heavyweight title fight?
Yeah, it has to do with the Hughie Fury fallout and the replacement opponent more than anything else I believe.
Ha! This fight is no worse than Gamboa-Castellano or Rojas.
In fact it's more relevant because it's a world title bout.
But anyway, I know it's not a "BIG" fight. So, it is what it is.
We had an article earlier on the fight. For whatever reason none of the major photo distributors went to the weigh-in. - I assume because when Fury bowed out there was little to no interest to purchase images of this weigh-in.
And the promoter never issued any press releases regarding the weigh-in or sent out any photos.
Ah, I see. Thanks for that info.
Well, I'm glad to provide a video of the weigh in for those that did not get to see it.
Just saying Boxingscene has been putting out articles on this for weeks. And then when they weigh in, nothing, no article, pics, etc...
Regardless, it's a Heavyweight Championship fight. It's not Parker's fault that Hughie flaked out. Lol, I mean it's not Canelo-Chavez Jr., but it's still relevant enough to report on at least.

Yeah why isn't anyone talking about Parker fighting his Sparring partner ?

Here's a link to a video for the Joseph Parker vs Razvan Cojanu weigh in
Lol, after they weighed in, the dude from Duco events interviewed the fighters.
When he spoke to Cojanu, Cojanu answered him that he'll do anything to win the fight. The guy from Duco asked him what do you mean by anything?
Lol, Cojanu got upset and told him,"I mean anything legal, don't try to, don't try to" then they moved on to Parker. Lol, that was the most entertaining part of the weigh in. Those two promo models are fine as hell. Lol, peep out the brunette when Cojanu is on the scale, she peeps out his "johnson" to see what he's got. Lol, funny sh*t.
Any predictions on this fight?
she did the samething with Parker lol
And Parker should win in the first round
Parker is fighting tomorrow?
Yeah, same day as Canelo-Chavez Jr.
Though we will know the results of Parker-Cojanu by the morning due to New Zealand being a whole bunch of hours ahead of U.S. time.
