On this day 2 years ago an entire fan base was dismantled and never the same. Come pay your respects

This Might Be The Only FIGHT in boxing history I could give 3x a flying fugg about ever re-watching or 'ever wanting to (for whatever reason) check our ever the fugg again... 'Like getting a blow job by a bytch with rusty teeth 'n lips with lemon as saliva
The day when boxing died. People who never went to a boxing match were curious what the hoopla was all about. They're massively disappointed, "Is this all they got, running and clinching and potshotting and posturing?"
I could see the look of disappointment in Andre and Stefi's faces.
Yep. We need a moment of silence.
Lol seriously, like I said I get why Floyd fans and Pacquiao haters wanna bask forever in the glory of that win, I do get it, but solely from a sport standpoint, it really was a f**king travesty.
For once the entire eyes of the entire sporting world, from one end of the earth to another, was on boxing. And it ends up being a light sparring session that produced about as much fireworks as watching paint dry in 1080P.
Career lows for each in landed punches...not a single memorable moment in the entire fight -- outside of maybe the Pacquiao moment when he stunned Floyd and unleashed a barrage of mostly missed and blocked punches.
I've heard Floyd fans say that the only reason so many people thought it was boring was because Manny was losing -- but that's 100% false. A good fight is a good fight. And a good fight that wasn't. No it was never going to be a firefight, especially with Floyd, but even THAT had to underwhelm the most purist of boxing purists.
Floyd got the W, credit where credit is due. But that was about as entertaining as damn spelling bee, lmao.
pac won that fight. he landed the much cleaner punches. outboxed floyd. very poor decision and cemented a bad precedent for "boxer" types. just survive and you can win on your reputation as long as you dont get clobbered. andre ward has to thank floyd for that precedent.

And as a Pacquiao fan was I disappointed by the outcome of that fight? Yeah, obviously. It sucked waiting for a fight for that long and ending up on the losing side. But hey, that's how this sports thing works. Somebody's gonna win and somebody's gonna lose.
But to think that real Pacquiao fans, or actually rather Pacquiao himself, has anything to feel shame about, I mean come on. With or without the loss to Floyd, and you can of course toss in the devastating knockout at the hands of Marquez -- even with those, the dude still will go down as one of the most decorated fighters that the sport has ever seen in its entire storied history.
But on the other hand I don't blame Floyd fans at all for soaking that win up, even now, or freaking 10 years from now. A lot of people talked a lot of sh*t for years leading up to that fight. Manny fans and Floyd haters talked endless sh*t forever. I don't blame you guys. If I were y'all I'm sure I would've taken just as much joy in it.
I don't think true Pacquiao fans went anywhere. The ones who disappeared or dumped Manny and hitched their wagon to Golovkin weren't real Pacquiao fans to begin with. They were just Floyd haters first who wanted to see him lose, and they saw Pacquiao as the biggest threat to that.
I'm a true Pacquiao fan. I'm still here. I see other true Pacquiao fans who never left as well.
The only people with self esteem issues are people like you who live vicariously through fighters and athletes to compensate for your low IQ's.
Nice alt jack azz
I don't know you....
IQ? Ive forgot more about boxing than you'll ever know
Awweeeeee.....you know you exposed yourself right
Must be one of those low self esteem. Great white hope. European Americans I spoke of....bwahahaha
It's funny, I envisioned the 1st round bell ringing and Floyd and Manny walking to each other for over 5 years before that bout happened man. Seeing Floyd win was worth the wait, it really was.
That fight was everything I expected. An overly cautious, past it Mayweather lightly tapped an overly cautious, past it Pacquiao for 12 boring rounds that disappointed damn near every single casual and hardcore fan after 5 years spent putting this fight off.
Stop over exaggerating about how Floyd fans responded to this. No one is acting like this. There have been a number of anniversary threads on nsb. This one shouldn't cause you to react like that.
You handled the loss like an adult. My guess is gruber is jabbing at those that didn't. Your response suggests you are a little bothered by some harmless fun. I don't see why.
It's sad that whenever a Floyd fan celebrates anything he accomplished, we get responses like yours. It's like its ok for everyone to celebrate a little except us.
Come on dude, don't be one of those guys.
Ok, I won't be one of those guys. Enjoy your anniversary :)
Lol, no.. I wouldn't be making threads 2 years later and acting like my life was fulfilled that night because a fighter I enjoy watching won a fight. Not that into it pal.
And BTW, I picked Floyd to win and was rooting for Manny but my life didn't end 2 years ago when Manny lost.

You think this is bad? Imagine if pac had won ...
I mean he lost yet still we get slow mo videos where they count punches that hit the ropes and some reaction videos from spain of 3 ppl who have likely never even followed boxing before that night
F@ck the Pact@rds Floyd won and made it look like sparring 49-0 best of his era
Why shouldn't fans talk about fights? Just because you didn't get the outcome you wanted doesn't mean fans should not discuss it. Had manny won you'd want to discuss the fight much more often.

we did win.. the most embarrassing fan base on boxing vanished over night
you and people you think like you / this are the reason this place is virtually useless for boxing discussion.
