Two names that come off the top of my head are Naoya Inoue WBO Super Flyweight Champion & Shinsuke Yamanaka WBC Bantamweight Champion. I want to see the Japanese fighting the top contenders in the world. Im confused on why they don't fight top names more. Can anyone share any insight? What Japanese boxers do you like right now? Who do you want to see them fight?

Wish a extremely more profitable global business model would be adopted in boxing.
Boxing is strange, it's such a fragmented sport which isn't a good thing. I don't think there's another sport that operates in such a way, in the sense it doesn't really operate at all in a way. It's just a load of independent promoters, fighters, tv networks etc. all trying to come to agreements and some refusing to work with each other.
Ideally there would be a reform of the whole sport but it will never happen, it's too far gone now.
As people have already said, they make pretty good money fighting in Japan and also if they are very good such as Inoue, then they become high risk-low reward everywhere else because a lot of them are unknown.
As good as Inoue is, basically nobody outside of people that visits forums like this know who he is. I was thinking about him earlier because Yafai is fighting Suguru Muranaka here in the UK next week and i was thinking Yafai v Inoue would be good but why would Hearn bring him over to fight and probably beat his champ when nobody knows him?

Kyotaro. Number 13 one the WBO's top 15 HWs in the world.
I know he's not very good, and he's no chance in hell against guys like Wilder, Joshua, Fury, and Parker, but I've been watching this dude since he was in K-1. Back when Dream was around and K-1 was doing cross promotion stuff. Alistair was fighting Aerts was fighting, Remy ****ing Bonjasky was still active and good. Fujimoto surprised and impressed me. Ever since then I've followed his career as closely as an english speaker can. He's got that real hardcore heart and stoicism the world loves about Japan, and sometimes it get him through some really tough jams.
Cool thread.
I'll look him up sometime.
Japanese boxers can make good coin domestically. Japan draws many fighters from nearby countries for that reason, much like how the US, UK, and Germany are commercial boxing centers for the West.
Still, I'd like to see Inoue fight in the US, maybe in a ShowTime card. He's a young mini-beast who can bring it.
Seriously want to see Naoya fight in the U.S. That would be epic
Japan has a big market for Boxing and its fighters make plenty of money on their land. Unlike other foreign fighters, japanese fighters arent eager to come to America for this reason.
Naoya is a beast!!!
I feel like where boxing is headed we might be seeing the best fighting the best world wide. Maybe im being to optomistic.
I was talking to techliam about Japanese boxing not long ago and he said it has died out somewhat over there.
That's no good they have some serious talent over there.
I been wondering why they keep them hostage in Japan fighting bums didn't choclotito sign to their promotion?
A lot of people on this thread answered my questions
