It reminds me of when they used to say Julio Cesar Chavez Jr was 5 foot 11 when its clear he is around 6 foot 2.
Im 6 foot 1 and I have friends who around 5 foot 11 and I dont look that much taller than them like Williams did against Margarito who is 5 foot 11 and Williams was listed at 6 foot 1, there is no way he was 6 foot 1 he was more like 6 foot 4
This is Paul Williams who was listed at 6 foot 1 but was really around 6 foot 4 vs Sharmba mitchell who was listed at 5 foot 7

No way Williams is 6'4". IF he was, what does it matter? He's not fighting anymore. Leave it up this guy to spit conspiracy theories about another black fighter.
Dam everything is about race with you, oh you must think people hate you becuas you are black too? get lost with that bs
Shock comments seem to be the norm here. That dude better hope something like that doesn't happen to him or his family. Very rude comment.
If it does, I'll be standing by to make a similar comment.:lol1:

I've seen Evander Holyfield and Vitali Klitschko listed differently a few times as well. They couldn't seem to figure out if Holyfiled was 6 ft 1 1/2, 6 ft2, or 6 ft 2 1/2....and with Vitali they would list anywhere between 6 ft 7 and 6 ft 8.

ishida is even taller than williams.....and ggg ko'd him! what a great fighter
But a human being non the less. Doesn't all God's children deserve compassion?
Here's what I will do. I am offering a non-sarcastic, sincere apology for anyone who I offended with my original comment on this thread. It was not meant to ridicule Williams who I liked as a fighter, it was a crude comment directed at the thread itself, to point out the insignificance of the thread. In hindsight, it was in poor taste and I apologize to those who I have offended.
You didn't offend me I was just pointing out the difference between Williams and Hernandez.
I guess whoever measured him got it wrong. He does look closer to 6 ft. 4 than 6 ft. 1. I am sure it was just an honest mistake. I can't think of a reason whoever is in charge of listing his height would deliberately list him as shorter than he really is.
I don't know who else has noticed that many fighters have their measurements listed differently for many of their fights. I've seen Mosley's height listed between 5 ft 6 1/2" and 5 ft 8 1/2", I've seen Hopkins, Canelo, Mayweather, Manny and Delahoya listed differently a few times also. I have a 1987 newspaper clip that lists Mike Tyson at 5 ft 11 3/4"....almost 6 ft tall ! Most other places I've seen him listed between 5 ft 9 and 5 ft 11.
I wonder why there's such disparity in their height measurements from fight to fight? Maybe they just ask the fighter how tall they are sometimes or maybe the people that measure the fighters aren't very conscientious and do a quick haphazard measurement. Or maybe sometimes the fighters don't take off their shoes.
I question the accuracy of the wingspan/ arm reach measurements listed for these guys too.
I hope every time you close your eyes to sleep, you see a re-run of Bernard Hopkins vs Winky Wright in an infinite loop and whenever you open them, it starts all over again :beerchug:
If you really wanted to hurt me you would have wished Ruiz vs. Rahman on me.
Well, Hernandez was a PoS.

Well if it makes you feel any better, he is no longer 6'4"...

The thread itself is ridiculous, I'm not mocking Williams for his condition, it's the nature of the thread itself. I find it hypocritical that this poster came to William's defense but no one said a peep when Aaron Hernandez's suicide was joke fodder yesterday.

Is wasn't clever or funny, it was low-hanging fruit. If you feel better saying "everyone else does it", then you're just lumping yourself in with the trolls here.
You usually post good stuff IIRC but don't mock a crippled man and then act offended when people bust your balls over the comment...

Lighten up Susie. It was sarcasm. Most of you clowns say far worse to one another as you just demonstrated.

I think it's how they stand that makes a big difference. Williams doesn't slouch like many people do, so he will appear taller. Margarito slouches which helped Williams look like he towered over him. If you go through faceoffs you'll see not many boxers stand straight, it's just bad habit of people and it's normal. Williams wasn't one of those boxers, he showed every bit of his height due to the way he stands.
Yeah might be. He did give up his height in his fighting stance though, which I always found weird. Someone should have showed him how to better utilise his reach and size advantage against smaller opponents.
However, all of this brings up how exciting he could be and how much I miss him.
