Robinson, Pep, Moore, Duran and Ezzard Charles all top my list.
Ali did too many things wrong to be considered. Leaned back from punches, fought with hands at his sides, rarely went to the body, and wasn't especially great at slipping punches. He got away with that style because of the slow heavyweights and smaller opponents he was matched against.
Yea, you dont know sht. Mayweather couldn't seperate himself from Castillo neither, needed a rematch where all he did was run harder.
LOL, is that what happened? Why are so many saying Floyd and not no Mas then?
Oh, give me a break, it's called styles. You cannot compare an out of prime floyd BEATING maidana to the same guy at 130 would could knock pretty much anyone out. What did you just watch some "floyds worst moments" YouTube channel?one thing floyd sure had over Duran and that was heart...never saw get frustrated and no Mas did you? DURAN QUIT! And it wasn't because he was getting hurt, it wasn't because he was taking knockdowns and knew he couldn't win the fight, it was because he was frustrated and quit like a crying like a 5 year old who couldn't get his way.
I guess that's why most here have picked floyd and Duran hasn't hardly been mentioned huh?
Some of you amaze me, look at more than 2 fights of a guy before you assume stupid things. Duran may well be an ATG...as high on the list as Mayweather later in history? I seriously doubt it.

(Tyson) " He has TWO decent wins. Larry Holmes and Micheal Spinks",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
both were not in their best part of their careers, especially Spink's, huge leg deficiencies .
Sugar Ray Robinson is the best ever! He could box and punch and was capable of KO's while backing up!
He fought the best from 147 through 160 for 25 years.
Twice ran 80-0 streaks and was easily the most colorful boxer of all time.
Ray
Sugar Ray Robinson for me too!...............
Floyds defensive skills is no better than Durans, he just runs more, and clinches more. Duran fought more often than Mayweather, he had much better reflexes, i've never seen a prime Duran turn into a pinata like Mayweather has on ocassion, all your seeing is Mayweathers speed and undefeated reputation. Duran is much more skilled tham Mayweather, Duran can box with the best of them and fight with the best of them. Mayweather cant fight at the top level, he's an outboxer through and through.
Look at what Corley does to Mayweather, the guys head movement moving forward is weak as for a supossed mega elite that can fight any way. Have you ever seen mayweather come in weaving, his weave is sht, his pressuring is weak, hes a master boxer and thats it, thats his style.
Pacquiao is even more complete than Mayweather. I have no idea why people pretend, or maybe your just that ignorant, Mayweather cant even beat the maidana's of the world fighting. Pacquiao is even more dangerous on the backfoot than where his style is most praised and most of his success came from as a pressure fighter, and this is a fact even pointed out by Mayweather.
You know, I replied to this, but then I went back and saw this
Lol, why are people bringing up Mayweather's compubox history. Mayweather is the biggest lie of the past generation, you can watch those fights and see he lands no where near what his compubox numbers show and he gets hit a lot more.
The difference here is Mayweather is not getting hit with killer shots in vital areas that often, and definitely not in combination. Golovkin has "decent" defense, good when he's focused but he showed some glaring defensive holes, like as he goes in for the clinch, like rigondeaux (another guy with a ton of amateur fights that gets caught the same way) but I think most of it is a lack of focus. Mayweather had tremendous mental stamina.
I also think his defense would be a lot better if he countered more.
Then I realized you're nothing more than jealous that none of your buttlovers could beat floyd, thus you spout off nonsense.

Idk where you surmised that from my comment. I never even hinted at that. What I Did say is he is the most skilled fighter I've ever laid eyes on. He's done things in the ring I've never seen and probably never will see again. You should watch some film studies on Floyd, it will make you appreciate what he's done in the ring.
Thats fair mate didnt check your username before replying but i know you arent a fl*mo.
I definitely appreciate what Floyd did no doubt. His consistency was especially great and the cleanness off his techniques was a joy to watch.
I just think there are other fighters, like Charles who i mentioned, who have a more all round skills in terms of offensive ability and power punching aswell as the defensive slick boxing also. He also fought using a variety of tactics and ive seen him fight like an animal on the inside, and also box like a slickster on the outside. Plus he has the advantage of proving his skills at a far higher level aswell.
Charles, imo, is the highest ranked righter all time p4p who didnt rely on freakish athleticism to achieve his style. Not to say the likes of SRR, Armstrong, Ali werent skilled, but their god given abilities and intangibles helped them a great deal
I 100% do not believe Duran was as purely skilled as Mayweather. He was skilled yes, but the combination of offensive and defensive skills, footwork, speed, accuracy, punch selection, pure reflexes, and uncanny ability to just know which punches were coming beforehand puts floyd above Duran. No mas.
Duran is on the offense all day ,his defens are ducks and slips ,Floyd is carefull in the ring ,Duran punch selection was top notch ,also he could punch from every situation.

Morales was very skilled fighter ,and he was brawler ,skill is not only one style ,Duran was extreamly skilled fighter.

yes.
wasnt that may slowed down as much as his hands would never let him be the beast he could have been. also, its not rare for a guys power to not follow him as he moves up. pac can attest to this.
those with more boxes checked are higher up on the ''most.....'' list.
Yep,hand problems and moveing up took his power like in many cases. Also i allways though he was cautious vs elite fighters ,he was destroying fighters like Gatti (C+,B-) ,but vs likes of Cotto it was diffrent story,as for Duran we got same Duran vs Bum and Leonard.
I'm his prime? Tyson? The baddest-definitely the most skilled- no way. He was a bull dozer. And I'm sure his personal problems affected his career. But unfortunately we can't play the game of what ifs because that wouldn't be fair.
Once Mike Tyson lost Cus D'Amoto it was a wrap. You could even go so far as to divide Mikes boxing career in half. Pre Cus D'Amoto and post Cus D'Amoto. I don't think any of Mikes losses in the ring would have occurred if Cus was still around. In fact I don't think Mike would have landed up in Jail if Cus hadn't passed away. Call Mikes career what you will but he was the only unified heavy weight Champ at the time and the youngest man to do it. To call the man a Bull Dozer though is a far cry of the man's skill set and ability in the ring. Mayorga is a bull dozer....
definitely pea but may was a beast below ww. and what good is power when you cant connect ?
True,May slowed down alot ,there is also more factors then skill, like intesivity or savagery ,thats what won Leonard fight for Roberto.
without question BUT one must also acknowledge defensive skills. they werent that hard to hit.
thats for sure ,but Floyd or Whitaker wasnt as deadly in offense as this guys.
^^^^
basically.
it appears those same tough cu/nts would rather retire than ''die in the ring'' :lol1: !!!!!
those tough guys think their fans will be there to support them when they become vegetables. the harshness of reality hits them too late.
Morales was very skilled fighter ,and he was brawler ,skill is not only one style ,Duran was extreamly skilled fighter.
To me if your that skilled, your skills should produce a great resume. So I list the usuals
Ali
Robinson
Armstrong
Leonard
Duran
Etc
Good post, In particular I would highlight Robinson and Ali as I believe they were far ahead of their time and were catalysts to many other great fighters lacing up boxing gloves. You hear so many legends citing Robinson and Ali for a reason.
the ''ill die in the ring'' clique :lol1:
they have their place in boxing though. i dont mind slugfests, even when they turn into slopfests. laughs abound
Yeah, I do like the "golovkin gets hit on purpose" excuse, rather than just saying...he gets hit because his defense sucks.
I'll die in the ring? That's because those guys are wannabe tough guys... real men know at the end of the day, this is a sport, it's dangerous and your wife and children don't want you getting killed for nothing more than a game. If you're that selfish, then I feel sorry for all those close to you.
the battle with ones self is usually the toughest one. gotta break down your limitations and ''weaknesses''. this is why i admire smart fighters so much. they may not be the most exciting guys to watch ''action'' wise, but to see them make such beautiful adjustments....a sight to behold.
That's because most "action" = brain damage...or stupid fighting as I call it.
