Is this post aimed at Tyson fury? cause all the current champs and contenders are below 250
I said 240+
which includes:
Wlad (247 last fight)
Breazeale (262 last fight)
Washington (240lbs last fight)
Joshua (249.5 lbs last fight)
Tyson Fury (248 last fight)
luis ortiz (weighs over 240 but isn't 6'6)
Pulev (same as above)
Not current but as of recent years:
Vitali
Valuev
... many more I cba to put in this list.
Probably not
The human body is a tricky thing to figure out, but there are general rules that when size gets to certain points, things stop working all that well together.
Whether it's oxygenating the muscles over a full 12 round fight, getting into proper placement to throw shots/react to shots, or simple athleticism, I think today's current crop of super heavyweights (6'7+, 250lbs+) are about as big as you'll ever see fighters be and still win at the top level in boxing.
Still, physiology is physiology; if simply given the generic metrics of a solid heavyweight frame, you're still talking about 6'3-6'4 and around 240lbs as being a prime and fit heavyweight fighter.
Hopefully not. They need to either set a limit on this shit, or go ahead and make a Super Heavyweight division already.
A lot of guys nowadays are too large.
