Maybe I was spoilt by the Haye-Bellew build up, but wtf is up with these two? They need to sell the fight more, trash each other...it's all so civil and boring. More on the line, yet I haven't met anyone who talks about this one. Weeks before Haye-Bellew everyone I ran to was talking abou this fight. I hope the fight isn't a huge bore too.
wilder's just a sideshow / footnote over here. the guy has a personality that makes me want to turn the TV off. tyson was popular becuase of his power, yes, but he was a compelling character. he wasn't as charismatic as ali by any stretch, but he was a curious character with a lisp and who appeared to be intelligent and people were drawn to him. all wilder does is flail around, sometimes knock people out, and shout bomb squad until i find my TV clicker.
wilder would have had a hard time making a college basketball squad. he just doesn't have that kind of talent. think about that for a minute if you want to project whether or not he's ever goign to cross over into the mainstream as a star or a top athlete. i could honestly see joshua getting bigger than wilder in america. especially once he pounds wilder.
Yes, I agree. The division needs American HW people find inspiring or at least intriguing.
I root for Wlad in this fight, but won't mind AJ winning at all, as that outcome is better for the division in the long run.
Hope US produces someone better than Wilder soon.
No US or Mexican (or based) fighters involved, so it somehow lacks the hype. It will be absolutely huge in UK. If AJ wins, Wilder-AJ will have much bigger impact in US.

Styles make fights.
I remember LacedUp doing some excellent analysis of Wlad looking poor against movers. Joshua comes forward in straight lines with no head movement, and i think he's made to order for the Steelhammer. My only concern is Wlad's age & absence from the ring which admittedly is a big factor. If Wlad has anything left he bodies Joshua. Trust!
all that deluded fanboy was trying to do was strengthen fury's win over wladimir's dead body. fury was on drugs to boot :lol1:
klitschko is going to sleep in this one. maybe he stinks the joint out and gets retired in his corner. the guy doesn't throw punches any more! amazing that people forget that he used to actually punch. he's not going to be able to do anything with a strong, young fighter who can punch. you need to, you know, punch to deal with that.

I don't know, but I'm more hyped for Joshua vs. Wlad than any other announced fight this year.
Can't wait to see how much Klitschko has left in the tank.
if he gets back to his old form we'll be asleep by the 6th round! joshua will be wrapped up like a babushka. looking forward to it!

Thanks for the mention. And it's very true.
However, I kinda feel AJ is too strong for Wlad. I think klitschko will be surprised at how the jab will go through and the right hand bomb will follow quite well.
Ultimately I think AJ will win without Klitschko landing too much. but we'll see how it goes. Depends on how much K still has left.
Hype or no hype it doesnt matter, Wlad is a very good puncher, one of the best ever at it but he isnt an offensive minded fighter. When AJ lands on his, he will try and clinch, push his way to a win. That wont work against AJ.
Agree. AJ is the new force to be reckoned with in the HW division.
Me too. I think the hype for Klitschko died after his fight with Fury.

Don't think they need to do anything. Demand for tickets was insane, and it will draw a huge audience in both Germany and the UK. They could have done more to hype the US market but they don't seem bothered by that at all.
The US markets dead. Recent PPV numbers has proven that. I wish it wasn't true but it is.

I'm looking forward to this one. This year has had so many great fights that this one hasn't been spoken about much however nearer to the fight most likely people will be talking.
As for hyping the fight, AJ doesn't have to do much and he does well because he has a big fan base in the UK. Both fighters aren't very vocal anyway. But it's a great match up that will get people's attention.
Yeah, hopefully Quigg is on it, maybe some British titles fight thrown on there. Hearn has a big enough stable to do so.
Wlad will test AJs chin but the only time I've seen him wobbled is agianst Whyte and I'm not sure how long wlad is going to look for AJ before the fight settles into a rhythm of AJ stalking and Wlad jumping back.
I'm split on how I
think Wlad will fight, he'll either fight like he has to prove something or freeze up and clinch. If it's the first then it will be really interesting and if he lands anything on AJ you'll get the haters saying how AJ got exposed lol
We were saying that before, I really wanna know the undercard, seen something about Scott Quigg possibly being on it but not much else.
I can see AJ being the next great heavyweight but even as a fan of his I'm still unsure about the chin holding up, lets hope so though!

What reign? Wlad is going to knock him out, and if Fury comes back, Joshua gets schooled.

I'd be surprised if Wlad can KO AJ. Very surprised.
The undercard will be poor. They don't need it to sell tickets or PPV.

That's what i'm thinking. It'll probably be a bad undercard because the fight sells the event. I'm hoping there are some reasonable matchups even if they aren't top guys.
