Why isn't he getting credit for this fight? He basically beat a light heavy weight who was seen as the second best MW in the division. He is clearly top 3 or top 5 P4P yet people like Crawford, Loma, and Rigo are ranked higher than him.
Then why wouldn't he weigh in? Yes, 20 pounds is easy to pack on at that weight. Canelo and Chavez have walked into a ring at 180 easy. Lamont Peterson came in at 165 for a welterweight class with Garcia. That's 18 pounds for a welter in 24 hours.
To hear Jacobs' camp tell it, he overslept; to hear Jacobs and his camp tell it, he walked into the ring 176lbs. Point to a single fight where Alvarez has ever walked into the ring at 180lbs.
Lamont Peterson put on that much weight for the Garcia fight, and seemingly had to give up the first 6 rounds to close out the final 6 rounds strong. Chavez Jr put on the weight that he does, but can anyway honestly say that Chavez Jr can keep on a hard 12-round pace with the weight?
Jacobs weighed in at 160lbs on Friday, showed up on fight night, and put forward a hard 12-round fight (fading a bit by the twelfth round, but that could've been due to accumulation to the fight); there's no way that Jacobs could've done that at 180-190lbs that folks are trying to create after the fact.
Are you a complete and utter moron? GGG woke up at 170. HE WAS ALSO A LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT. Goodness Gracious some of you have no damn shame
Everyone keeps ignoring this FACT!
Do you honestly believe that Jacobs outweighed Golovkin by 15-20lbs on fight night, seeing that Golovkin already added 10lbs by Saturday morning (with another handful of pounds with breakfast/lunch/dinner before the fight)?
You're saying that, in 36 hours, Daniel Jacobs was able to add on 30lbs and not have that weight affect the way he fought. gtfoh

No he didn't, i'm tired of people exaggerating fight night weights like when people call Canelo a cruiserweight and Crawford against Gamboa a junior middleweight lol it's just stupid.
Don't get me wrong Jacobs is a huge middleweight but no light heavyweight is making 160, it's pretty simple.
You can see the size disparity with your eyes. Look at them during the weigh in, then look at Jacobs during the fight after he re-hydrated. That extra 15-20 pounds makes a difference, just ask Joey Gamache and countless other fighters who were KTFO by blown up fighters who went up two or more weight classes on day of the fight.

What were the fight night weights? By the time I caught the fight the intros had ended.
No one knows; HBO only showed Golovkin's IBF second-day weight, with neither fighter stepping on the usual HBO "unofficial scale" (how it actually works is unknown to me, but it was always my belief that HBO had the fighters step on the scale when they show up at the venue).
Ok to be fair, Jacobs did look big in there last night.
And Golovkin looked small? lol. Golovkin, on the morning of the fight, stepped on the scales JUST below the IBF check weight; come actually stepping into the ring, Golovkin definitely added more weight.
The notion that Jacobs put on anything like 25lbs (when Golovkin, himself, likely put on near 15lbs himself) in 36 hours is silly.

Because Golovkin was pretty heavy too, lol. He was barely under the 160lb weight limit, and he was barely under the limit for the IBF; say what you want about Jacobs, don't act like Golovkin didn't end up walking into the ring 174/175lbs on fight night.
Curtis Stevens stepped on the IBF scale, if my memory is right, at 167 the morning of the fight.
To here y'all tell it, Jacobs walked into the fight Kovalev's size or some ****.
Jacobs didn't look any bigger than he did in previous fights. He was probably somewhere around 175-180 but why is that a big deal when Golovkin was probably somewhere around 170-175 himself?

Triple G himself on the second day weigh in was at 170. There is no telling what people weigh by just looking at them. I will bet you that other fighters against him have done the same and it has never been an issue.
The IBF is the one that requires this weigh in. The official weigh in was done at an abnormal 9 am
if we can be completely honest, Jacobs not only looked gigantic but he was shredded like he was competing at a bodybuilding contest. Dude is on roids. 110%.
he had bulging biceps like prime RJJJr(PED cheat). what boxer works curls in training camps? they don't. it's anabolic
lately all the "great" black fighters like pence Crawford ward now Jacobs are gigantic for their divisions and if that aint enough most are juiced on top of it. cant compete without all the advantages
All this crying for Jacobs weight when nobody knows how much each guy weighed in when they got into the ring
