Used to work for HBO. And in what many felt was a close fight he gave 7 of the first 9 rounds to the HBO house fighter.
Hmmm....

To me this conversation should be less about any particular logic with this judge or any judges scorecard & more about should this guy even be judging a HBO fighters fight & arguments about what constitutes a conflict of interest.
I'm curious if the NY Commission has considered this situation at all & deemed it acceptable or what would constitute a conflict of interest along these sorta lines.
Its ABSOLUTELY a conflict of interest. I started a thread about this after the Broner fight but I had mixed up Weisfeld and Farhood, and its Farhood not Weisfeld that worked for Showtime, so I had that one wrong. But in THIS case, Weisfeld DID work for hbo in the past, and should NEVER have been appointed to judge a fight involving one of his former employers top fighters. The NYSAC should have known better. And even if you agree with Weisfelds card, the conflict still exists and he should not have been appointed.

What did this guy do at HBO or the boxing industry in general? Believe this guy got mentioned before, but I can't place him if he was some sort of on screen presence or notable cat I should know.
He did the unofficial scoring for them for a while. Here he is giving his scorecard at around the 14:20 mark:
He took over Harold Lederman's spot for a few shows back in 2014, most noticeably Chris Algiers vs Ruslan.
I'm assuming he was kicked to the curved because he was boring.
lol, I remember that. He was boring.
I think it's a stretch to complain about the judges in this fight. It was so close. I thought GGG won, but I couldn't argue with anyone who had Jacobs. The cards weren't unreasonable.
Do you think Jacobs only won 2 of the first 9 rounds?

Yeah 115-112 from both judges was a bit of a stretch. If you wanna support your own fighter you might as well be a little craftier and have it 114-113.
