He won't come out guns blazing. At least that'd be a stupid idea. He should be patient and break Jacobs down. Jacobs can really crack and is a damn good fighter. I can't imagine he'll take a big risk of getting hurt early. I expect him to use his jab a lot again.

True, true. I kind of wrote it off as Pirog was a badass so no shame in getting finished by him. Danny looked to be feinting the jab to land a strong right (they were both throwing the same thing but Pirog got there first) and he'd already committed himself to the combo. But, when you look at it in the context of a history of behaviors, it starts to make you wonder about his reflexive instincts, his chin, and the fact that he's not posturing himself in a way that protects his chin. Look at what we was doing to defend from that series of punches and Pirog was shifting stances, Danny's response was to tense up and grimace, then when he threw back he somehow ignored that Pirog was still firing. It's like his back hit the ropes and his mind just said, "Bomb's away!". I made a prediction saying it would be a close fight simply thinking GGG has slowed down a bit but now Im looking more at this and Danny just goes straight into the ropes when he could had just moved laterally too. And like you said, his back hits the ropes and at times you see guys play it defensively but Jacobs apparently thought throwing punches would get Pirog off of him somehow. And his chin out there. I also meant to comment on this. If you watch the Pirog KO, he was looking directly at the punch too. I mean, it looks as if he blinded himself with his own left then saw the punch once it started coming. He still got caught though. :dunno: If you skip to :27 you can see how his left hand covers up Pirog's right hand. True, true. I also think the ropes is GGG's best bet. That's where Jacobs gets rekless. Whether he's the one on them or his opponent. He gets reckless regardless. Lol Yea, all respect for the Quillen win but I remember thinking, damn, he's got this guy hurt but if Pete counters, he might drop him because Danny is leaning over, hands-down, chin-out... It's Golovkin's his pauses and limited defensive footwork when he gets hit. Watch when his opponents use lateral footwork. I've been saying that for years. If he pressures Danny he can likely put him away early, so long as he doesn't expend all his energy. So many are predicting this will be like the Golovkin that fought Lemieux. Why? Lemieux and Jacobs are nothing alike. DL has no footwork or reflexes, but he does have a better chin. You wouldn't fight Jacobs that same way. You don't jab a powerful, rangey, counter-puncher to death. If he lets Danny maintain space and get a rhythm, that's where he'll find himself in trouble. I also think the ropes is GGG's best bet. Jacobs is so chinny that GGG can probably pull it off. Like Miranda, we've seen Jacobs KO lower level dudes, but we haven't seen him KOing top 10 MW's outside of Quillin who was average. We saw Miranda breaking then top 5 MW Abraham's jaw and possibly TKO'ing him if it wasn't for AA's corner convincing the ref to overturn the stoppage after the ref had waived it because Abraham told him he doesn't want to continue. Some people are fixated at Jacobs power, but they're not thinking about what if GGG decides to turn up the heat and take one from Jacobs just to land on Jacobs' weak chin and end the fight earlier than some people think? I think the fight ends for Jacobs in rounds 5-8, but who knows, GGG can go in there guns blazing not giving an F about Jacobs power and just blow right through him in 2 rounds. Going out guns blazing is much more riskier for Jacobs than it is for GGG. GGG is probably well aware of both, the Quillin fight where Jacobs blasted him, and the Pirog and Mora fights where Jacobs vulnerable chin/recovering issues showed. Yea^. The thing that really concerns me is not even just his chin, but the behaviors that expose his chin. Look what he was doing when Mora nailed him. He had that right hand c0cked back FOREVER like he was straight out of casting for BunFights 2016. You'll rarely see a pro boxer pull a move like that. If I were coaching Jacobs I'd emphasize stifling Golovkin's attack and then circling heavily, as Brook did. Golovkin's posture and footwork is just open to it. If Danny finds the same opportunities Brook did, it will be a real fight. It's up to Golovkin not to allow that (and I think he's smart enough to ensure it won't happen).

Both fighters want to deploy their weapons, which in this case means nasty power. Openings and counters will happen right away. Someone's hitting the floor by the 5th round, maybe for good.

No way this fight will go to the distance. Unless one of them is hiding some Lara running skill for 12 rounds.

Hence his popularity. No running or clinching, no surviving 12 rounds to eek out a decision or doing just enough to win. Win decisively and give the fans a good show. Pretty much. It's a shame this fight isn't on CBS. This is the kind of fight that so-called "casuals" would get excited about watching.

Not really, well... If he KO's him early, the haters will say ' Jacobs was crap to begin with' If he Ko's him late, or takes him to the cards ' lil g was exposed' He's in a no win situation. Also if he KO's the 2nd best MW on the planet in a round, will Delaholhic be so keen to chuck his goldenboy in with him? If he get's dropped by Jacob's and struggles to a late TKO or decision, he will likely jump at the chance to put Canelo in with him. It's a double edged sword whatever happens tbf.
