Name me one boxer with big ass and thighs who cant crack
Buster Mathes jr couldn't crack an egg.
There is body type myth really in every sport, ability is god given regardless of body type
Ether be long levers, or a strong robust core! these are the two physiological factors that effect punching power. Your core muscles comprise of every muscle in your mid section, and all of your posterior chain! your core muscles are like the chassis on a formula one car, without a good chassis? the power generated will not be utilized! and the athlete will not be robust and durable (You are only really as strong as your core lets you be!)....
Boxers with long levers, seem to be better at generation power from a distance! where as boxers with thick strong mid sections, and robust cores? are overall more devastating punches from mid to close range! Fighters like Mike Tyson, David Tua, David Haye fall into this category...
Well your legs produce the most free testosterone while weight training. I know in HS my P.E. teacher for weight lifting always said if we are going to test our max on the bench press to do a set of squats first, typically you should get about a 5lb increase by doing so. So I can totally see how big glutes and thighs equate to more power. But a tall/lanky frame is still better for boxing.

Gayest post I have ever read and ive been here since 2011!!
Sporty Crag, please do not project your sexual preference onto me. I am happily married with a wife and several mixed race children.
Not about the size but the strength and power they can generate. Many wiry skinny fighters generate big power due to having explosive muscles. Especially in weight based sport like this
Ultimately timing and technique is the most important factor imo
There's no real way of knowing. For every guy you name with "big thighs and butt", someone else can name a skinny looking fighter than can also crack.
Sometimes people are just heavy handed, some just have great technique. Some fighters are willing to sit down on their shots more than others too.
Mass doesn't mean strong. It's the strength though you're right. For strong, heavy power it's this ass strength with your body behind it, the snappy punches that drop guys like a sudden shock is in the front/anterior deltoids though mainly, with the little twist of the waist.
David Haye is unified, undisputed, lineal bubble butt of the world.

Somehow "big thighs and butts" sounds hella gay compared to "muscular quads and glutes"
Pacquiao also has free trunk legs and thick calves for a guy his size.

Leg power will help more when a boxer uses uppercuts and hooks not straight punches, Wilder uses more straight punches. and of course Wilder is a KO artist. He's been fighting bums his whole career, KOed a lot of bums but couldn't KO Charlie Zelenoff haha
Wilder got chicken legs and he packs power. Julian Jackson/GGG don't have big bum/thighs and he has brutal power, same as Canelo. sometimes it depends on the quality of your opponents and how you sit on your lead foot when throwing.
