I'd like to make a civilized discussion on which fighter would best represent the best style to beat the undefeated & incredibly slick Floyd Mayweather.
Many have tried, many have failed but in your mind, what would be the best strategy or what type of fighter would be needed to defeat someone like Mayweather?
Discuss!
@ ww I think the guy who could beat Floyd straight up, outside of srl and hearns of course is prime Terrible Terry Norris...and whats so funny is the guy who Floyd praises the most Errol Spence, recently said his favorite fighter and the guy he patterned himself after, is none other than Terrible Terry Norris, and the similarities are crazy.
agreed......................
I love these scenarios that think aging only works one way. Mayweather would have been younger too so faster, and more aggressive.
lol so he can't jab a prime may? lol most people agree oscar had a amazing jab man....that jab landed on everyone......may was a great fighter but he wasn't unhittable .......oscar in prime was special man....don't fool yourself......

what fighter do you know is at their best in their FOURTH DIVISION? and most of his time there was in his thirties genius
by the time he beat Gatti, he was already 28 and had 34 fights already.
Floyd was at his best @ 140 and below.....he had all the athleticism of his youth and years of experience as pro....also he was more aggressive and hurting guys
when he fought Gatti his record was 34-0 (24 kos). He was having hand issues ever since his lightweight days and you can see that by the brands he used after he moved from 130.
Floyd was in his prime in the early to mid 2000s....not 2007 in his 4th and 5th division and constant hand issues...dude also changed his style to compensate for the size disparity he gave up and brittle hands
did you even watch boxing back then and see how different he fought before his welterweight days?
trying to be a smart azz while looking like an idiot must qualify as a badge of honor. Then you qualify big time because you skate around the fact that Floyd was performing at the highest levels in boxing as a welterweight and no one is that stupid to argue that!! He rose to the highest P4P level as the result! THAT is why he is CONSTANTLY brought up in countless threads including this one about how he would fair against the greatest welterweights! You just dont fuking get it!

A gun and maybe then Floyd might make you miss

Yep, cotto in his prime would've supposedly done this and that, but they forget to roll back the years for Floyd. Or, it's "floyd waited for so and so to get old", like floyds age just freezes, like people b1tching about manny...never mentioning floyd is several years older lmao...dumb azz fans some are.
Ricky Hatton was the ideal style. Unfortunately Ricky was too small to sustained the tempo. I think Ricky beats Floyd if it wasn't for size. You can't just be a pressure fighter with a good chin that isn't shy to get touched. Speed is the one ingredient other pressure fighters that Floyd faced had lacked. Ricky had it, but was just too small.

Ricky was one of my favorite fighters, but not in a million years does Ricky ever beat Floyd.

lol dream on...he landed on pernell...so come on now....a prime delayhoya's jab imo is one of the nicest ever.....

And he still would have landed %10 of his shots and been countered all night, and possibly sustained more damage and stopped.

Riiight, like he did with Trinidad you mean?
he won the tito fight 8-4 imo in a interview he said he got countered by titto and buzzed in the 7 or 8th round and since he knew he was well ahead(or at least thought) he coasted the rest of the way...but he says he should of never stopped coming forward in retrospec......
he never stopped coming forward much in the may fight....may could not punch like tito.....that's for sure
you do realize osacr was well past his best at 34 right? no where near in his prime...his shots were slower and he could be timed easier....his stamina also was a lot lower and he faded....a oscar of 8 years earleir would of kept up that pace for the whole 12 rounds......

I loved the retarded commentary during that fight
Jim Lampley, "And there you see a body attack unlike Floyd has seen before"
Steward, "Well, none of those really landed.."
Jim Lampley, "The point is he's trying.."
It wasn't very close....Oscar was having all kinds of issues with his speed, not to mention floyd rattled him twice with right hooks.

Oscar De La Hoya was never really rattled! it was Mayweather's toughest technical fight at elite level! he was busted up after the fight......
Looked wobbled to me pal
