As far as i understand it...
-an injury caused by an intentional foul that ends the fight = DQ win for injured fighter
-an injury caused by an accidental foul that ends the fight = NC
before 4 completed rounds, Technical Decision after 4 rounds.
-Fighter or his teams pulls fighter out in between rounds due to an injury that just happened with no foul play (eg. Zapeda vs Flanagan) = Injured fighter loses by RTD.
-Fighter stops fighting or corner pulls them out during the round due to random injury = TKO loss
-Ref stops fight due to random injury = TKO loss
I think...
Isaac Clarke nailed it as to why you cant rule NC for a fighter or their team calling the fight off. Would lead to fighters who are losing taking a NC rather than losing by KO or on cards.
It's if an injury is caused by an accident, clash of heads etc if under 4 rounds have been completed. You can't start giving out NC's to people who's bodies fail, never mind the discussions of if it's fair or not but you open the door to fighters faking injuries all the damn time to get out of fights they're losing.
This ^^
At the end of the day, if the injury was a problem before the fight then he shouldn't have fought. If it first appeared during the fight then it's hard luck. You can't really strip wins away from guys because the opponents body is breaking down, they're the ones choosing to fight and if their body can't handle it anymore then that's nobody else's fault.
