Fights less then a week away and it feels like no one even cares for this fight. I think it's an ok fight just because the skill isn't that great but I know a lot of people on this forums loves the WW division. This is a match up of 2 of top 5 in that division and no one's talking about it.
Rooting for Thurman just because I can't stand Garcia crackhead dad.
I am excited about the fight and I have been since I first heard about it. I was wondering if Garcia was ever going to fight a welterweight better than Paulie or Guerrero. I am a Thurman fan. I want him to win and think he will win. If Garcia wins his dad will remain a very important person in boxing and we will be seeing and hearing him all the time. Angel loves the spotlight on him and he is such a nasty classless jerk. If Garcia loses he becomes an ex champ and he and his dad aren't that important anymore. Anyway Thurman and Garcia are both damn good and it should be a very good fight.
Haye/Bellew will have my attention that night. I'll probably download Garcia/Thurman on Sunday.
Who is Haye/Bellew? And why are they relevant ? You mean Toey is fighting Saturday night?
I'm hyped for this fight. Just hope it lives up to expectations of Two world title holders going in against each other and trying to climb the ladder in the Welterweight division.
Their styles seem to mesh well so it should produce at the very least some fireworks.
Yea I actually meant on this forum because they actually care enough about boxing to go to a forum and discuss it. I think this fight easily clear 3 million viewers just cause of the names.
On nsb though I think of them as more of hardcore fans and no one's talking about this and I thought people would love this matchup. Only time a thread ever got created on this fight is when Angel does some stupid **** and it gets headline and then talked about. Spence easily gets more thread about him then both Thurman and Garcia.
I think too much of the discussion has been about Floyd and Conor because both of these dudes transcend their sport and are pop culture icons. So yes, Garcia/Thurman has taken a back seat to that but that is understandable.
Much like Ward/Kov this is a fight fans fight, juts minus the racial element that drove much of the Ward/Kov discussion.
I frankly don't expect a fight like this to get the big time buzz like say a floyd fight since neither guy transcends the sport.
I haven't made many posts on the fight because I have no idea what to expect how the fight will play out.
I really have no clue either. No result will shock me.
I'm absolutely buzzing for Thurman vs Garcia, counting down the days now. The winner of one goes from star to superstar. Fights like this don't come along often, two undefeated champions in their prime going at it. It doesn't get much better than this.
I'm super excited for this fight.
Problem for me is that I don't find both guys to be exceptional talents but a lot of guys on this forum always try to hype up the WW to be this awesome division filled with the best talents.
I just don't see anything special with both fighters. Danny have slow feet, his hands aren't fast, his power seems medicore, and just doesn't seem that athletic. Both his offense and defense seems so average I'm just not a fan of him.
Thurman seems ok with power just cause as he moved up in competition he haven't knocked anyone out, has better footwork, and I think have faster hands than Garcia. He have a fan friendly style where he doesn't make the fight ugly by hugging and clinching too much but again I just don't see that he's a great talent.
I think Thurman will UD Garcia unless some stupid judges to happen because Garcia always get some iffy decisions just cause I don't see what Garcia does better then Thurman.
I don't think either is exceptional either but they are well matched and the top guys in the division. Its all one can ask for.
i cant wait for it, but the trouble is haymon doesnt promote these events well at all, more hype about haye bellew than this fight lol.
You live in the U.K. Of course you guys are hyped for that shlt fight
This is just a perfect example of how much bigger a draw khan is.
Personally I'm really interested in the fight and the winner has an argument as top dog. Problem is there's nothing to talk about till fight time.
Maybe start a thread on the fight yourself?

Me too
I lean on Thurman but Danny always finds a way
Will be interesting as Danny has made no secret about his body attack. Likely will try and be aggressive.
I think it has something to do with the excessive length of time between announcement and fight. Remember, this fight was announced back in October - it's incredibly difficult to keep up hype and momentum for this long. Inevitably, people have talked about it as much as they can - all that's left is just to damn fight.
Great fight! I'm stuck on who is going to win, I was thinking if it is a stoppage then Danny gets the victory and the decision to Thurman. I don't know cuz Thurman is the bigger man...Im stuck on this one.
