He's not even in the top 20 for me but I wanna know how other people rate him. I know for the top 10 p4p I don't really know anybody who rates him (I could be wrong).
It depends on your angle. Cloud was a good win at the time. He was a top 10 LHW. It's as good of a win as, for example, Gennady Golovkin's best win, David Lemieux.
Dawson is super underrated. He beat Adamek, Tarver twice, Johnson twice, and Hopkins. And don't give me sh*t about them being old. Tarver is still going strong at heavyweight, Johnson made a run in the Super 6, and Hopkins went on to unify the division.
About Cloud, again, he was coming off a loss to Hopkins and before that a complete robbery "win" over Campillo. He was never particularly good, and at that point Stevenson really doesn't deserve much credit for the win.
I'm definitely not crapping on Dawson's career. I was one of his consistent defenders since joining this site. I think time has proven that the Ward fight completely ruined him, though, and that's not hindsight on my part. I thought the same thing back when Stevenson beat him and said so. Time has only made me look more right about that.
Stevenson will be as good as the opponent you'll put in front of him...
And once for all, enough with those Kovalev's Alternative Facts/Fake News... Blame Duva/HBO for the fail...
He's got a better resume than what others want you to believe. Dawson, Cloud, Bellew, Fonfara. His last 4 fights leave a lot to be desired though and if he really is fighting Monaghan next, he's continuing a negative trend. There's also the fact that highly publicized fights against Kovalev, Hopkins, and Pascal all fell through. We all know both sides of the story regarding the Kovalev fight but when you add the Hopkins and Pascal fallouts, it's hard to pin the blame on others.
Cloud was TERRIBLE. He came off two straight losses and even at his best as one of the most overrated fighters of his era. Dawson doesn't exactly look good either over time, and personally I always thought it was an overrated win. The Ward fight ruined him.
Now Bellew looks much better than it did then and Fonfara is solid, but that's still a really weak resume.
All I see here is comments about his left hand. How does that make him good? And once the left gets taken away by a smart good fighter, what does he have?
He hasn't done much.
His career is pretty ironic; he has become this sort of phantom who ducks every other top fighter in his division thus remains "a threat".
Had he fought any of them he probably would have just gotten smacked up and forgotten.
He is the fighter that nobody wants to face in my opinion! give credit for Tony Bellew for facing him when he did! Afew years back i believe he was a very potent fighter, but these days i feel like his bionic abilities are starting to fade! I watched one of his recent fights, and his movement seemed to be slowing down....
But stylistically he has a better chance at knocking out Andrew Ward even at this stage of his career! in comparison to Sergey Kovalev!
He's a top 3 guy at 175 however you cut it. P4P is bs so top 20 there is childlike sci-fi nonsense and doesn't reallllly mean anything.
He certainly hasn't helped his cause fighting bs opposition doe.
All good points!
The guy has not fought a credible contender since FOnfara. And I think that fight scared the daylights out of him. He was rocked and staggered in that fight.
I rank Kov, ward, and berterbiev ahead of him right now. I think JOe smith would put his lights out!!!!

I have no answer to the post, but I really appreciate the "panda" dance that you have in all of your posts. It gives me impure thoughts.
chickenson is a one trick pony with a shaky chin who got knocked out by a journeyman.his best wins have come against fighters who were coming off of bad losses and were shells of themselves.dawson was a broken man after draining himself down to 168 and getting stopped.cloud got schooled and had his heart taken by popkins.
Well he is still putting good performances being 40-year old.
That left hand will be extremely dangerous weapon for probably 10 more years. What else will be left of him as a boxer ... time will tell.
He is definitely a top light heavyweight but comes off as the Lucian Bute of 175 by taking the easiest route in defenses while other top fighters face each other.
Until he faces Ward, Kovalev, or Beterbiev his true potential cannot be clearly stated. And paying $70 to see him fight the likes of Tommy Karpency and Thomas Williams on PPV has been irritating
