Could you imagine if abraham stayed at middleweight? The only reason he moved up to super middle was so he cud enter the supersix tournament.
Would king Arthur had a better career at middleweight? He stands at 5'9 and has been undersized in every single super middleweight fight he has had.
I know the guy is past it but man, he would have killed 160 guys.............
Abraham was short, but he was built like a powerlifted. I also heard quite a lot about him really struggling to make 160 in late stages...

"Bild Zeitung brings today a story on IBF middle champ Arthur Abraham and his struggle to make 160 on Friday afternoon. There are three kilos/six lbs left. Abraham is likely to make the weight but is a big middleweight and seems to be headed for super middleweight in a not too distant future."
He was better at MW than he was at 168, but he wasn't a great fighter. Like most German champions, he fought mostly second-tier contenders, struggled with guys like Ian Gardner, Eastman, Miranda - yeah they were tricky, Miranda dangerous, but not world beaters.
Way back when I remember hearing he had trouble making weight.
True. He struggled mightily with the weight and had done so for a couple of years before moving up.
He was an interesting fighter in his prime but he never looked unbeatable. I remember back then I was desperate for him to face Pavlik, and I thought Pavlik would probably beat him
At some point at his career Arthur started to believe in his own hype, some people even called him favorite before super 6, he is good German champion, with typical German high-guard style, great chin and character, but nothing more. He has and had very little chance against Golovkin or even Canelo.
168 guys cannot hurt himn with open hot and his weird cover up defense. He would be similar to a DAvid lemeuix.....a little better
it seemed like Gilberto Ramirez was hurting him tho
I'm not sure he could beat the likes of Golovkin or Canelo tho

He definitely would've had a more respected career. He was very feared at MW and it seemed like nobody could stand toe-to-toe with him, looked like a fool stalking much taller fighters around in a circle at 168 and never looked very good when he moved back down.
SERIOUSLY!! He's one of the bigger weight mess ups i've seen(him and Glenn Johnson). He would have been a TERROR at 160

Him at MW is one of those guys that could take Golovkin's punches and give back one of his own.
Exactly, I just wanted to highlight the fact I think it's a horrible move by his camp. He would of had a tremendous career at 160....It seems he went for the early cash out in the super six....
I don't know if you could make an argument that he was. He definitely could use his offense better and was returning a lot more shots that he was taking but didn't get in with good opposition until SMW. I would lean towards him being better at MW since he is small though.
