175 and not 147
Anyone else agree?
We have the lineal champ Adonis, Kov, Ward,Beterviev and now Badou is moving up Joe Smith, Barrera Clev this guy Oleksandr Gvozdyk (12-0)
iPretty soon we will have all these dudes fighting each other unlike the 147 division
I was thinking about this the other day while i was looking at the last ring top 100 list. They had a section where they break it down per weight class. Ww statistically was the best with 10 fighters from the top 100 and 7 in the top 50.
147 is barren...
Thurman is pretty unproven. Garcia hasn't done much at the weight. Winner of Brook/Spence is OK.
You've really only got Pacquiao and Bradley to a lesser extent, who himself has disappeared. The division pretty much died when Floyd left, and Manny is pretty much cashing out.
It baffles me why people try to promote welterweight as some loaded division, when its really not
Cruiserweight has to be in the conversation. Along with Super Featherweight.
I mean it is loaded more so than other division it's just that these dudes aren't fighting one another
The HW has become a very talent deep division. You got Klitschko, Joshua, the Furys (Tyson & Hughie), Parker, Wilder, Ortiz and a bunch of other up-and-coming guys. I think 2017 will give us some really good competitive fights.

147 is extremely overrated. Talent wise if porter is a top 5 in your division its not too impressive. He's pretty limited Garcia and Thurman is also pretty limited.
175 is it for me. Those guys can box and move well plus all of them have ko power so it's also very exciting.
Even if you remove Porter. You have Brook, Thurman, Manny, Bradley, and Danny. All legit. Then you have the new crop like Diaz, Spence, Ponomarev and I know I'm missing a few. Plus it almost certainly has the best overall set of champions in boxing. Anyways, calling the division extremely overated is a bit over the top imo.

I;ve been saying this lately!!! we just have a lot of midget/mexican asian supporters on boxingscen. Will the real men stand up!!!

Thanks bro I agree green k sent
Divisions that I think have the most overall talent in the top 10 would be 147 & 154. Honorable mentions to CW & 130.
That said, 115 is probably the most top heavy division in boxing atm with Estrada, Gonzalez, Inoue and Cuadras.

I'd agree 175 is probably the best weight class right now. However I think I'd take HW over 147 - too many people in 147 trying to protect their names, the good matches are getting made. Meanwhile at HW, there is AJ, Wilder, Klitch, maybe Fury, and then a load of second tier talent who isn't as good, but fun fighters to follow; Parker, Hughie, Ortiz, Briggs, Haye, Stiverne, Puvlev, Ruiz, Whyte, Molina...
160 is the best. There's GGG the GOAT, Jermall Charlo, Chris Eubank Jr, Canelo, BJ Saunders, Daniel Jacobs.
GTFO
Eubank Junior is now super middle with his meaningless IBO bauble.
Canelo fights at whatever ****ing weight he likes and its rarely 160.
GGG won't fight anyone decent until now because hes being forced to.
Billy Joe Saunders is a fat pikey who holds belt hostage and wont face anyone in the top 10.
Agree with 126, absolutely LOVE 126 right now and I think it is a division just getting started with Mares working his way back in the mix after that flawless performance vs Cuellar with Robert Garcia as his trainer now.
But things are heating up at 154 and I think THAT could be considered the best and most talented division in all of boxing by the end of 2017. The Division is LOADED with talent with some excellent young talent on the rise fast in that Division like Erikson Lubin, Patryk Szymanski, Jarrett Hurd, Magomed Kurbanov
Justin Deloach. Then you have underrated guys like Jorge Cota, also Diego Chaves who is now at 154, as is Sadam Ali who is still young with talent, if he fix his Defense he can make noise at 154, Eric Walker is underrated as is Michel Soro who is VERY Underrated at 154! That Division is going to be great to watch to see who comes out on top of it over the next couple of years to see who comes out as the king at 154
147 looking great as well with Thurman vs Garcia, Spence Jr vs Brook, hopefully Porter vs Berto happens then of course when Crawford moves up things will get even more interesting!
You need to see more cruiser fights.
exactly! its an underrated division & because we do not have any US based fighter in the top its going un-televised on proper networks here..
Well Gassiev is with Haymon & trains in Abel, so some fights should be on showtime.. with usyk on HBO undercards..
Honesty only Usyk really stands out
Usyk is #1 now, but all these guys have serious talent & can win over other with a better game plan.. Huck & Lebedev are almost at the end of their career but Gassiev, Glowacki had a good win over these guys..
in LHW Ward, Kovalev & Stevenson are the top guys & there is a huge gap between the next set & they are all prospects who are pretty good at that stage.. Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Bivol..
Title holders:
Usyk, Lebedev, Gassiev(just won IBF against Lebedev), Huck(IBO), Bellew(WBC)
Contender: Briedis
Although if you leave Bellew aside, rest of the guys can give heck of fight agaisnt each other & fights can go either way.. Top dogs are Usyk & Gassiev atm but Glowacki can beat Lebedev & Gassiev with ease..
