Mikey is naturally 5-10 pounds bigger so I don't know if this fight is a possibility(though people talk as it is).. but many are really naive and buy into the hbo (pro wrestling style) hype machine wholeheartedly. Embarrasing a champion means you put on a great performance. Loma Walters fight was a great performance, not the christening of a supernatural boxer.
Mikey wins this fight at 135 because of his size and power advantage. He also has a stupid ring iq, exceptional skills, but he sets people up to hurt them( granted Loma is more fluid and faster). Whereas floyd was studying his opponent from the opening bell to take away his opponents offensive, mikey is similarly figuring him out to set up one punch to change or end the fight. He doesnt neccesarily have typical one punch ko power, but his perfectly timed power shots will hurt anyone. ..You see this consistantly if u remember his older fights.
He had a quote a while back saying he felt like he is playing a video game in the ring. This seems accurate, like he is playing mike Tysons punch out and discovers the vulnerable spots programed into a character and exploits them at first opportunity.
Thoughts on a potential fight?
I agree. In fact, I would love to see a Walters vs Garcia match up first. See if Walters can gain some respect back for being embarrassed to the point of quitting by Lomachenko. With Mikey, I could see Walters putting up a much better fight than his last outing, with something to prove.
He would stop him. Walters is like Donaire a boxer who loves beating up smaller oppents. And his inactivity was his biggest down fall.
Lot of people aren't boxing fans.
Salido problems means that you think like Floyd Mayweather i.e. that losses disqualify a fighter from being great. That scared thinking is why Floyd isn't going to be ranked among the very great and why boxing has been **** for years.
And yet fools here buy into it.
He is gonna be rank higher than Manny pacquiao. And a 21 years .old Floyd would have school Salido. at age 21 years.old Floyd beat Genaro Hernandez made him quit in the 8th round. And he won the ring magazine fighter of the year.
wait a couple a weeks or until loma fights next and the views of people will change again. Everyone is just hyped up on the ko of dejan and believing mikey will emulate that against loma. Lomachenko is still the most skilled more boxer today and as we saw against walters he completely neutralised any power advantage walters had and will do the same against mikey.

garcia has only fought slow guys. its true. loma has fought guys like walters and russell. the guys mikey fought were moving in slow motion compared to them. floyd made a career out of fighting slow guys so lets hope mikey doesnt follow in his path. he already avoided gamboa which was a bad sign.

Loma is p4p no1 and would school garcia. This is not a come forward no head movement brawler like dejan. Loma too much movement angles and workrate and would cruise to an easy ud

We heard it already with Walters - bigger, stronger, if he lands Loma is finished. And we all know how it ended up. Hype train is real with MG after las fight but I think it might be even easier than Walters fight.
Why do you say that?

Loma fought at light weight in the amateurs. Fact is, that his body structure dictates that he can fight at 135 with relative ease and he won't be on the short end of the stick when it comes to size against Mikey. Plus Loma has mentioned going to 135 himself and he has enough power to knock Mickey out. It's not like he would be going in there at a distinct disadvantage.
Yeah he can fight there, sure. His best weight profesionaly i bet is still 130, maximizing his advantages, and not allowing the potentially nuetralizing factor of a fighting a naturally bigger guy at his preferred and natural weight..Fighting amateur is obviously different, power and kos are largely removed from impacting the outcome of a fight. The 5 pounds would make a difference even if they are the same weight on the night of the fight

id have to see them face to face before i made a prediction. If mikey garcia is considerably bigger than i'd pick him, as good as loma is i cant see a smaller man beating a world class fighter like garcia. That would be a tremendous match up though, massive fan of both guys.
They are both 5' 7" and Garcia has a 3" reach advantage, 68" to 65". That's fingertip to fingertip, with arms outstretched, and reflects the fact that Mikey is broader across the shoulders than Loma. He's naturally a little bigger, but not enough for the good big 'un always beats a good little 'un rule to come into play, imo.
Both are excellent boxers, with Loma having an advantage in speed and Garcia in power. Garcia is easier to read, so Loma would probably rack up a points lead, but if he made a mistake and jumped into one of Mikey's shots, it would be lights out!
Actually, they are the same height and both are coming up from lower weight divisions. Loma's frame can easily handle 135. There is no huge size difference between them.
Didn't Loma just come up to 130 2 fights ago and mikey was already talking about 140 Saturday in the post fight? Correct me if I'm wrong. He Bigger
It's an interesting match-up but I think their both better off campaigning in their own weight class since both 130 and 35 are heating up in competition.
