This is a better opponent than I predicted. But then again, I predicted he would fight his Mom for an easy payday.

This is actually the highest ranked guy Wilder has ever defended his title against. He is ranked 10 by the WBC. There are better heavyweights Wilder could have fought but for Wilder this is a reasonable title defense. Boxrec ranks him 20th and he has never lost a fight. He is a big improvement over the unranked and unknown foreign boxers Wilder has been defending his title against.

I think this is a good choice of opponent. Big and undefeated.
