Every time a young fighter steps up and delivers a solid performance, people turn it into a negative. Several examples (i name names unlike others)
Gervonta Davis, a 22 year old delivers in his first step up fight. Instead of giving Davis credit for winning his first title, several people feel the need to bring up Lomachenko:
Jose was a paper champ and the weak link belt holder. Was a low top 10 ranked fighter at best at that weight. Loma is considered the true champ at his weight. When you say there is no point for both that's pure BS. fight makes sense for Loma who would take the fight in a second and add Davis scalp to his resume. Davis not fighting him now is only in his best interest. I got no problem with him not fighting Loma because I haven't seen anyone who thinking he will win that fight. As long as he fights guys comparable or better then Jose fans will be OK with it. But if he starts protecting that paper belt and fighting bums ducking top contenders and other more relevant title holders it will be a problem. But ducking Loma for a few years and praying for him to move up so he never faces him is a no brainer.
Errol Spence has impressed in his young professional career. Many fans want to see him step up and face the top fighters like Kell Brook and Keith Thurman. Instead of embracing these enticing matchups. We have people saying stuff like this:
Spence has not fought anyone with decent pop and skills who can fight back. So can we stop saying that world class fighters like kell brook are ducking him.
And for the record im not saying spence wont be any good, im saying the hype is getting ridiculous for what hes done so far in his career, its almost like hes guaranteed to be the next huge superstar when he is literally not proven in the slightest so far.
This kid looked OK.
Facing a guy he was 100/1 to win, who's only fight against a decent level opponent was Keith Thurman. Let's calm down a bit.
Keith Thurman dropped him in the first round and decided to get some experience. Big fuking deal.
Brook would have wiped his arse with Bundu in 2 rounds ffs :lol1: And some of you idiots are claiming Brook moved up to avoid Spence.
I mean, I don't know where to start. If there's anything in you that believes Brook is moving to MW to avoid this kid, you should have your retarded brain scanned immediately.
That's just two examples but I can list a few more. Is losing to a Lomachenko or a Brook really a terrible loss that would make these fighters hype jobs? Why do boxing fans always feel that it is necessary to turn positives into negatives?
I dont get offended but it is annoying when a noob starts super hyping up a prospect after one decent victory like Davis.
Longterm boxing fans have seen countless young, talented fighters come and go so it takes more to be convinced.
Spence? He is good but ive seen so many prospects in the past 20 years who were just as good as him, if not better, that turn out to be bust ..
For me it just takes more time to be sold on a fighter.
That's fine and I agree with you.
But you can't have a fighter go 5 years at the championship level , unbeaten, winning titles and then he finally loses and you come back and say "see I was right!!! Hypejob. He finally got exposed"

I thought he said he was going to 154 after the GGG fight.
I don't think he is ducking Spence at all and have never posted or implied he has. I completely understand what is going on. However, when posters like JoeMan (with his anti black, anti Haymon slant on everything), for example, blame Spence for the fight isn't signed, what do you expect to see from people responding?
I do think Brook discussing possibly fighting Khan gives the appearance he doesn't want to fight Spence. Doesn't mean he is ducking.
I haven't seen that. Obviously Spence wants the fight.
Brook has been wanting the Khan fight over anyone else for years. If someone thinks he's ducking Brook because of that, it's simple not true.
Did he? Or did he say his team wanted him to go to 154 but he wants to fight Spence?
Because I could have sworn I've seen him say that on at least 5 occasions.
The problem here is that you all want to believe that he's ducking Spence. You're not listening to what he's saying or understanding that the guy has a MEDICAL SUSPENSION which means he is not allowed to spar, let alone fight.
What is it people don't understand about that?

Who said that tho? :lol1: :lol1:
I don't see this "Spence hype". I see people that think he might have "it" and want to see him tested against Kell Brook or Keith Thurman.
And for the record, I'm not one that has bought into the hype. I've always been concerned about him being a little stiff and flat footed (although he was a lot lighter on his toes against Algeiri)
Plenty of people said that. I see it on the daily. Especially when it was announced and Spence had that Pomanarev situation etc. They still say it to this day! It's retardation of the highest order.
Well if you don't see it, I suggest you look closer. And obviously right now is not the same as it was when I wrote that thread which was on the back of the Bundu fight.
NSB was all: "Spence is king, Brook running to GGG" :lol1: So stupid.
Spence is a fine ass talent. No question about it. Would it do him better to fight a couple of Guerrero's or Berto before fighting someone like Brook? Perhaps.
Could he beat Brook now? Perhaps. I don't personally think so, but he's good.
The problem is the unreal hype he got for knocking out a very very basic fighter.
Brook said he had issues making weight and will move to 154 then said he is considering khan at 147.So it appears as if he wants no part of Spence who is high risk, low reward. You've been around long enough to understand how NSB works.

I still believe he's a VERY promising prospect.
Do you understand the difference between being that, and suddenly accusing Brook of fighting GGG to avoid Spence?
If you can't see the difference, I truly feel sorry for you.
It has absolutely nothing to do with him being Brook's mandatory. I would love to see that fight, right now more than in a few years, because Brook would beat him now. Probably more easily than all of you Mayweather suckboys would believe.
However, do I want to see Khan getting smashed over a Spence fight? Of course.
If not Khan, I'd love to see Spence in the UK. Hell, I'd buy a ticket for that show.
You just don't understand it, and you're trying to make me some kind of "hater" because you're a fanboy and you can't see past it. The thread was made when every single thread on this forum was saying Spence was this and that on top of Brook moving to fight GGG to avoid Spence - Which of course only someone like Mayweather fanboys would ever try to suggest because that's the level of intelligence we're dealing with here.

Delusions of grandeur. I was called out before Spence fought Algieri for saying I believed he was already a top 10 welterweight and potentially the future of the division. Go and check.
The thing is not whether he does well or not, the thing is he gets an average win and wholly in those fights makes a lot of mistakes that someone like you can't see, but the rest of us can and better believe someone like Brook will take advantage of that.
That post is from the unreal retardation following Spence's beating of Leonard Bundu where all of a sudden he became this monster who Brook avoided by fighting GGG.
Absolutely braindead proposition, and you not seeing that just makes you so.
:lol1: :lol1:
What the fuk. No one cares about those two.
Of course they do. If either were promoted by TR, we wouldn't see 50% of the BS.
So before Spence was Brook's mandatory, you thought he was a promising prospect. After Spence becomes Brook's mandatory, he became a hypejob?
You should vote for poll option #1.

You have morons using threads like "Trinidad vs Spence" When Spence is absolutely unproven. And with replies "I don't know, it's a close fight" Even though spence has done nothing. If Algerie keeps on hitting Spence with the left hook, what do you think would happen if Thurman hits spence with a left hook?
You have spence weghing up to 160 pounds fight night. He is an unproven weight bully.
No no! Don't hit them with the reality that both Bundu and Algieri were tagging Spence continuously.
They have a combined 0 KOs in the WW division though, so obviously to know effect :lol1:

I think with these 2 fighters specifically it is because they are promoted by Floyd and managed by Haymon. Any success they have is seen as success for Floyd and Haymon, 2 people they want to see lose at anything.
Added to this, they have seen GGG, Loma and others they like criticized so they feel the need to "even things up" by doing same.
:lol1: :lol1:
What the fuk. No one cares about those two.
1. Bro..don't make blanket statements about who I criticize. When I make statements like that I provide quotes to allow posters to explain themselves. Do the same for me. I defend GGG all the time on this site and have been called a groupie. Ask any extreme golovkin fan.
2. Floyd didn't bring him up. He was answering a question from the media. Instead of giving Davis props for overcoming his first test as a pro fighter, people run and hide behind Loma when 1. The fight can't happen and 2. He's clearly not ready
My bad on the statement about you but I still stand on Davis point. I haven't seen anyone calling for that fight on this forum and everyone seems to acknowledge he isn't ready. Even the quote you provided about Davis on the first post acknowledged that he isn't ready for Loma just that he can't avoid competition while defending his belt.
thats not true. jerry sandusky loves the young fighters
:lol1: daggum was shot for a while but dude is making a late career comeback like B-Hop. :lol1:
good question u cant be happy about new talent without them saying ut overhyping them. u want to see them fight big names its "who has he fought to deserve it" then when they don't fight a big name its "how many bums will he fight"
Well they got mention in the same post because Floyd did... I haven't seen anyone demanding this fight though and everything I read so far already accept the fact that Davis is not in Loma league. It's logical though to expect a champion and have the nerve to call yourself a champ then people expect you to take on all challengers.
Spence deal though I don't understand at all. Some of the post are retarded and a lot of them come from ggg fans who should understand because he gets a lot of stupid criticism while being duck massively.
But I've seen a lot of your post you seem to criticize ggg unfairly so you shouldn't be calling anyone out.
