UK boxing seems to be on a high at the moment. They have more world champions than any other nation. Domestic fights are filling out stadiums and casual fan interest is the highest it has been since the 90s. How is their success seen in America I wonder..?
Grew up just down the road in Stirchley. Lived in Moseley for awhile but in Harborne nowadays.
Haha last time I was in Moseley I got beat up cos I was walking the streets screaming fxck al-quieda
Wasn't long after 9/11 haha
I miss birmingham
There's quantity but not a lot of quality.
I'd say Carl Frampton, Anthony Joshua and James Degale are the cream of the crop.
Carl Frampton a good shout. His last fight was awesome. Looking forward to the rematch. Degale fighting Jack soon which is an interesting unification fight. AJ is really hyped but done nothing wrong yet and we're waiting for him to be really tested.
It's a bittersweet thing. Hearing casuals debating things they know very little about becomes old very quick. I suppose it comes with the territory.
Unless you have something to actually add don't bother.
Hatton surpassed all of them haha
And calzaghe
I think amir khans televised final amatuer bout had more viewers
Where in brum you from

Yeah... kinda what I figured. Need to be a little more than a casual fan to know them names. The biggest I remember is the Eubank, Benn and Collins era. That won't be surpassed as it was all on terrestrial TV. Even my nan watched them fights!

It's a terrific time for British boxing, what with the amateur system being very well funded and producing top fighters time and time again.
However, mainstream interest isn't as huge as i twas in the middle of the last decade with Hatton, Khan and Calzaghe. The odd "big" fight gets some interest but outside of AJ, recently Brook and maybe Groves, no one really knows Kal, McDonnel, Smith etc.
