I think Usyk is a bit punch shy and will have a hard time finding Mchunu and Mchunu will find a way to get inside Usyk's long arms and really test Usyk's chin with quick, precise combos on the inside. I am just not sold on Usyk simply because he beat Glowacki (who is a much different fighter than Mchunu. Let's see if Mchunu can slip counter with a big right hook.
:lol1:
did he win a round? i didnt give him one..
Yes. Usyk wasn't even really able to find him much in the first five rounds I saw. Mchunu was rolling with everything.
Well, you win some you lose some. I though Thabiso would be able to really test Usyk's chin but he was just too small and didn't throw enough combinations to begin with. Understandable seeing as how much bigger Usyk was than Thabiso in the ring last night.
I have only been able to find the first five rounds of the fight online though so I haven't watched the full fight yet. Usyk seemed to have a really difficult time finding Mchunu cleanly in those early rounds and Mchunu was rolling with most of his punches.
It was very tactical from what I was able to see and Mchunu was able to give a good account of himself in there.
We'll see where Usyk goes from here because does he really have that much more to prove @ CW? Not sure how he would fare against the really big heavies though.
A fight with him and Povetkin would be interesting I think.

That looks like an old Mchunu laughing back at this in 30 years time. Same hairline.
I disagree that that's what he has to do. He has to fight his fight and let Usyk come at him and slip his shots and counter with his own shots.
Usyk can stay on the outside and use his height and reach to win, he is almost a foot taller and has half a foot of reach on Mchunu.
Mchunu has to become Mike Tyson and bully Usyk on the inside and stay on the inside. Do you see this happening?

Mchunu doesn't beat any of the legitimately top CWs.
Breidis, Gassiev, Lebedev & so on and he sure as hell ain't beating Usyk unless his arms grow 6 inch a piece overnight and he's allowed to take a bat into the ring.
No one can stop Usyk at cruiserweight division. Im sure that he's one of the most impressive boxer i've seen in recent years. He'll all titles at cruiserweight. Glowacki, Huck, Gassiev, Lebedev, Briedis and others... i dont think these fighters can beat him.

If the 'Baby Wladimir' talk is legit (and this is, I'm assuming the Wladimir Klitschko after Emmanuel Steward corrected the defensive/range holes), I wouldn't hold my breath.
usyk is the real deal. that guy can fight. unfortunately he's going to run into some huge dudes at HW. i'm excited to see what he can do when he heads there. he's going to make a ton of money some day.
Gassiev is a better style to fight Usyk than Mchunu imo (not that i would pick him to win). Boxing on the back foot vs such a great amateur is going to be tricky. These Ukrainians know how to box. Very quick, very accurate, very skilled.
