Why so ignorant to the Cotto-Kirkland PPV?

This fight being on PPV does beg the question that had GGG-Jacobs already been made for March 18 on PPV, would HBO have still accepted this Cotto fight or would they have passed like they did with Pac-Vargas so as not to have 2 PPVs only 2 weeks apart?

I'm not complaining about ppv's anymore. I won't buy it and I won't watch it. I might not even watch this one if it was on regular HBO. Everyone is tired of Cotto. He should retire. He had a good career.

It's alright for PPV but I don't like that 153 CW. Kirkland is a big dude, like Canelo, and that CW is unfair for Kirkland. Cotto should of just went with a welter or some ish if he wasn't going to fight at the full jr mw limit.

This fight is not ppv material. I really don't care how much Roc Nation owes Cotto. Kirkland comes to fight but his chin doesn't. He is simply to brave for his chin. Unless it was triple G, I don't justify any Cotto ppv at this point of his career

Cotto is getting up there with age and its way smaller than the Mandingo warrior. True that Kirk has not fought in a bit, Cotto is on the same boat not having fought in over 14 months by the time the fight comes true. Kirk teamed up with Ann Wolf are a solid combination who is still undefeated and his only two defeats have come under some other trainer. Why so many here dont get it? Roc nation owes Cotto 15 million for 1 fight. What did you expect them to do? The only reason this fight is in texas is because jerry jones gave Roc Nation a 10 million fee for the fight so there was no possible way to get that fight on hbo because they need the ppv to atleast go even. Why not a better opponent? Well they tried for a year to get Marquez who would make a huge ppv fight and Marquez chicken out saying 147 or no fight even when Cotto said lets do 149. Bradley would ask for way more than they are playing kirkland and with what they owe cotto they cant pay bradley 5 million. The options were petterson or kirkland. Kirkland agreed to the 1 million pay day and the catchweight that sets the bar for atleast 200-250k on ppv at 70 + the jerry jones fee. Disagree with that completely. Kirkland is the bigger, more relentless fighter. As far as entertainment value goes, Kirkland is a better choice over Peterson. Considering Cotto is attempting to drain him, this argument goes out the window.

we should all be hoping for awful PPV numbers for every PPV so that PPV dies and goes away forever. while this fight is not a ppv and i won't be buying it, there are plenty of worthy fights that have been on PPV, and many of tose fights simply couldn't be made without ppv. HBO can only pay so much for one fight on regular "championship boxing." rememember alexander - bradley? you don't? that's why networks can only pay so much for a single fight on HBO. that fight sucked, took up a quarter of the budget for the year, and did next to nothing to build either fighter. basically got an HBO exec fired single handedly, and the boxing budget reduced for the following year. if you don't remeber the fight, and there's notignw rong with that because it sucked, it ended in a late round head clash after there was virtually no action. additionally, HBO signed a deal to bring both fighters back for million dollar paydays regardless of the outcome. it was f#cking stupid, and that;s why you have ppv.
