What' he gonna do now that that 6 ft 180 lb Charlo brother looks like the real deal at 154 and GGG is up at 160. I'm guessing they'll be calling little azz Cotto back tomorrow for a rematch...
His time is almost up......
i'll say canelo shouldnt have waited for him to get old, cause the only time canelo will grow a pair of balls and fight him is if golovkin starts to look old and rusty. Im telling you there is ZERO chance of canelo beating golovkin if they fought next year.
We will make a bet then bud
canelo can and will hide. I think in 2017 he'll rematch cotto and fight chavez jr. Easy fights and lots of money to be made.
I can't wait till nelo smashes golovkin
What you gonna say then
Didn't say he didn't had less footwork or decided not too hold but there were times when he chose not to use them, Pac and Margs 1 come to mind
Also I don't see canelo as some boxing God, but dude clearly isn't a 1 dimensional fighter, sure he's short and got cement feet
But you probably got a personal bias if you think that.
Finally, I find it hard to believe a WW could be hurting a MW early on
But ok.
there isn't much of a difference in weight classes when it comes to how hard you can punch and how a body takes shots. I don't know who invented that myth around here but they sure didn't step in a ring before. You can't tell what weight someone is by sparring them, I can promise you that.
Usually if your power doesn't carry up it's because you moved up from your natural/ideal fighting weight beforehand and are stretching it as far as what you can pull off, or you were light handed to begin with.
please don't allude to using holding being some good veteran tactic, it isn't, and Cotto isn't one to resort to holding as a habit.
I don't think you are familiar with Cotto at all if you think he had less footwork earlier in his career than he does now.
Thirdly, he wouldn't be in trouble against a one dimensional fighter like Canelo in the first place. His punches would have more steam, he would absorb punches better, and he would have sharper defense and would be hurting Canelo early on.

A prime cotto doesn't have the experience to hold or use his footwork as much especially to get away when in trouble. And canelo got him I trouble more than a few time, especially in the last round.

It was closer than many would like to remember, though I agree the decision was clear in itself.
A prime Cotto doesn't lose that fight and that's important to remember and consider because the context of the fight matters more than the name on paper standing alone.

:lol1:
Canelo has already beat fighters better than Charlo and Andrade, a couple of guys who want nothing to do with Lara.
If any of those fights take place next, I'll expect the same posters to continue their cry baby tendencies when Canelo beats them up.
I don't get why sooo much hate against Canelo....the guy sells and makes MONEY! his skills for his age and the fights that he has had are the best IMO at the moment. People talking about Charlo Bros....really? Why haven't they stepped up for Lara, andrade? come on man....they just want a pay check!
Canelo will fight anyone and when he fights GGG I want all the Canelo haters to STFU! lol.......and BTW he can hide in his many MANSIONS that he owns :)
Stopped reading here.
This is why people hate on Canelo.
Absurd statements like this.
Cotto didn't almost win. He clearly lost.

I don't think anyone at 154 poses the threat that Golovkin does to Canelo. Even though Canelo can be a diva at times, it doesn't mean he isn't one of the better boxers out there right now. Both Charlo brothers have plenty of flaws that Canelo can exploit. I personally think Andrade is Canelo's toughest matchup at 154.

People were saying this same thing about Lara
Yeah and if Lara decided just to fight a little instead of jogging around the ring Canelo would have another L... Well maybe not cause Canelo automatically gets a 117-111 card before the fight starts.
If that's the case then we need to root for Kirkland. I dont wanna see a rematch.
Cotto is a very good fighter who I feel beat Canelo. I have no problem with the rematch on two conditions:
1. Its in a proper weight division
2. Its for a legit title
None of this 155 for mw crown bs.
I dunno, this Charlo was getting caught with right hands and although Williams didnt cause him problems, a Canelo right hand definitely will. I think Canelo beats both of them at 154 but it is very risky and I feel he'll look for a Cotto rematch (thnk he didnt deserve the decision anyway) and then probably low ball Saunders for a fight and round off 2017, all the while mentioning GGG to get some headlines.

Hey, pal, that's literally GGG whole resume... I'm a GGG fan but you can't knock other people's wins and mention GGG at the same time, he's literally beaten nobody himself. That may not be his fault but it's the truth!
ggg beat guys who were champions, former champions, guys who were robbed of the lineal title, etc...williams didn't even have a resume on par with dominic wade or willie monroe yet people on here were saying it was a great win for charlo so its a little confusing.
