Who had a worse round? Floyd or Ward? I know it's easy to say Andre because he went down. But let's remember Floyd was hurt badly TWICE in that round and as he was heading back to his corner he was stumbling a little.
Also who made the better recovery in the next round?
In closing this is what really separates a very good fighter from a great one imo. Both Andre and Floyd never allowed those same right-hands to land again. Compare that to Pac against Marquez in their last fight and you see the difference from a technical point of view.
I will agree with the posters who say Floyd was more hurt than Ward. But I think in spite of this Floyd performed better in the round, and followed it up with a non-debatable win in the next round.
Mosley was fools gold by then. everyone knew that. Margaritos style was taylor made for mosley
Hindsight is 20/20. People laughed when Mayweather said he'd fight Mosley and refused to believe it would go down.

Ward was hit with power jabs and right hands in round 5 and 6 and then again in the 8th.
Floyd however did do what you said.
Floyd had it worse.
He got hit so hard his legs were gone, had to hang on to Mosley to prevent from getting dropped. Then he got hit flush again. He looked like he was one or two more shots away from getting knocked out.
Ward was hurt, but wasn't nearly as much trouble as Floyd and he recovered faster.
Floyd could have had a 10-8 round, even without hitting the canvas.
Have to agree with this.
Ward was fighting a primed killer. Floyd was fighting a shot Mosley, 1 year removed from the ring and he took away his steroids, Mosley was suffering withdrawl symptoms and gassed in the second round.
Not disputing whether Shane was in his prime or not. This is about who out of Floyd and Ward had a worse 2nd round and made a better recovery/technical adjustment. Looks like more and more people agree that Floyd had it worse.

Against Margarito was the last time Mosley was able to use his steroids, that's why he looked so good and beat him. Against Floyd he had to do USADA testing which is why he gassed and looked like ****.

Guys HERE is a video of Floyd/Mosley rd 2 and though it's not the full three minutes I must say I still believe Floyd had it worse than Dre tbh. Yes, Floyd never went down, but to me he took more punishment than Ward.
I think Ward had the worse round 2, not just because he went down though. If you watch Floyd-Mosley round 2 Floyd was landing shots that mattered and defending fairly decently outside of the handful of shots that landed and that hurt him. Still a clean Mosley round but not as one-sided as Ward-Kov round 2.
Also I'd say Floyd recovered better. Round 3 in Ward-Kov is subject to some discussion, but no one really disagrees that Floyd won round 3 against Mosley and by quite a bit at that. One striking difference is that Kovalev appeared to be able to visibly affect Andre with just his jab which is probably why he was relatively more tentative in his rd 3 than Floyd.
Ward was fighting a prime good to great fighter. Floyd was fighting an OLD past prime Mosley.
You act as though Mayweather was still in his prime when he faced Mosley. I think Mayweather was hurt worse than Ward and managed to come back more convincingly. Overall it was a good display of heart and determination by both.
hell of a good chin fighting past prime, injured and cherry picked boxers. :bottle:
Youre just a crow sitting on the fence , dont know anything but hype poor kid .
Power dont leave idiot , just like an old GGG will kick like a mule till the day he dies lol you dont know much other than hype do you lol .

So we are in the couldve, shouldve fantasy world where floyd was fighting a prime mosley?

Who would have knocked most 147-154 guys out landing that punch clean , Floyd was hurt a lot more than Ward was .
That Maidana right bomb that Floyd walked into right at the end of the round would have at least dropped most WWs again Floyd never looked like going down .
The punch Corley landed was a bomb Floyd wore that as well .
You are an idiot kid , just a hater talking sht making out you know something about boxing when you dont know jack sht lol .

Shane had just beaten Margarito, but I digress. The question isn't about the quality of the opposition, it's about who had a worse round and made the better recovery?
Ward on both counts (quality of opponents and better recovery)
Kovalev's right hand is a killer, BHOP stated.
Shane eats come forward mexican style fighter. Margarito (the cheater) aka floyds original daddy was distracted to be fair.
