yeah i can actually back mine up with evidence though. watch the video for confirmation of what im saying. i dont think simply saying body work is good enough to explain how a guy who is outlanded 2-1 in a round and doesnt land the cleaner heavier shots wins it.
round 1 clear kov landed more and better quality
roudn 2 clear kov landd more and better quality
roudn 3 close-landed equally but kov slightly shook ward with a left hook giving him the round based on quality
round 4 clear kov landed more and better quality
round 5 close but ward landed slightly better quality
round 6 clear kov landed more and better quality
round 7 toss up lands and quality equal 10-10
round 8 close on lands but ward landed slightly better quality
round 9 clear kov landed more and better quality
round 10 clear kov landed more and better quality
round 11 toss up lands and quality equal 10-10
round 12 somewhat close but kov landed more and had ward hurt to the body
thats my card watching it this time. i could be persuaded upon further review to change those 10-10 rounds to either guy so anywhere from 7-5 to 10-2 kov is within the range of good scoring. obv if you were wathing it live you could have a different score because you are emotinoally attached, influenced by commentators, on drugs, etc...but actually watching it closely it was an easy win.
and you dare call anybody biased lol.. not even kovalev himself would say he won 10-2. you have bias all over every post you make.
The funny thing about this fight is, you could have predicted before the fight which posters would land on what side if it ended up close...and sure enough, that's what happened. They all acknowledge that it was close, but still managed to score it for the guy they were supporting or predicted would win...and it's the other side who are biased and can't score objectively. :lol1:
Truest post in this thread :lol1:
We should make bets on which posters would have who winning in a close fight.

thats not true. a lot of ward fans or people who thought ward would win had kovalev winning. i dont really know of anyone who was a fan of kov or thought he would win that thought ward won. its just a small but loud minority of ward fanboys who are defending him. none can explain how all 3 judges gave round 10 to ward when kov dominated it. these are the same judges that they prop up as their only evidence why ward won. well nm chollo visto pretends ward won 10 but hes an extreme fundamentalist clinchist.
R1 Kovalev 10-9
R2 Kovalev 10-8
Because of the second round KD, Kovalev wins the rest of the rounds. Ward cannot come back, the KD tells the whole fight. 120-107 Kovalev. 114-113 Ward was a disgrace.
ward survived the fight therefore he wins. what a comeback.

I can't remember what I did with my scorecard. I didn't have the app at the time. I had Ward by 1 point but like I said, it wouldn't had bothered me if Kovalev had won it by 1 point too.
I prefer threads like these, that way those that continue to cry robbery can be easily checked.
How so? They can just make up a scorecard with their guy winning.

I wonder how often this happens.
The last prior that I could recall was 115-113 x3 for Thurman over Porter.
how statistically likely is it that 3 judges would give round 10 to ward. a round he clearly lost according to everyone but chollo visto. could it be that it was late in teh fight and they knew that if they gave kov one more round he wins the fight....no thats not likely. its likely they all fu-cked up!
yes knockdowns dont win fights. its getting outlanded while landing lil body shots in the clich that wins fights. lil body shots > quality and quantity
That's the problem, a lot of what Kovalev "landed" wasn't quality. The stunning jabs grabbed a lot of attention but there were a lot of grazing shots while most of Wards landed shots were on-target.
It was close enough that I can respect people who saw it going for Kovalev. Unfortunately, there's just too many angry individuals who claim they can't conceive any way in which Ward won. That just sounds like poor ability to judge a fight. No matter the perceived winner, we should all be able to agree it was close, and respect a variety of opinions on a close fight.
Mike D this is a good post. I really hadn't thought about this at all. It is statistically unlikely that all 3 judges would have the exact same score in such a close fight.

I did my initial one in the RBR thread as it was happening. After the KD, I thought Kovalev was going to win but a KD alone doesn't win a fight and Ward took the rounds to achieve the victory.
