And it wasn't Kovalev.
Sorry Kova fans but it's obvious the judges knew who they wanted to win and scored accordingly. They had Kovalev up 5 points after the 6th round and knew one more Kovalev round meant Ward lost. So what did they do?
They decided not to give Kovalev any more rounds rather it is a close round (Round 12) or a round Kovalev clearly won (Round 10).
And you shouldn't expect anything different in the rematch which probably won't feature a knockdown since Ward will be more conscious early on and still bank rounds for simply surviving.
I suggest you watch it again, clear Kova round.
Show me. That's all I ask. Kovalev got credited landing 11 power punches that round on compubox, show me those 11 power shots that round. He landed 1 right hand with 50 secs to go, his left hooks were missing Ward's head and hitting his neck/traps, it's pretty obvious when you slow it down.
I keep hearing Kov won round 10, please show me where.
He lands 1 right hand that whole round, just 1, the rest are jabs that Ward took most of the pop off of. Ward landed the cleaner, harder shots that round. Kov's aggression was ineffective, he was hitting air most of the night and you people were giving him credit lol
I suggest you watch it again, clear Kova round.
When you clearly outboxed someone after the 5th round and he has no answer for your adjustments, that's call taking him to school. Ward made him look tired, frustrated, and was hitting him clean with shots.
...meanwhile ward was tentative and also getting hit with clean shots. I guess you see what you want to see. I didn't see anyone "clearly outbox" anyone in that fight. Neither guy performed very well imo.

It wouldn't be that big of a deal if two of the judges didn't have Kovalev so far ahead after 6 but they did. But for them not to give Kovalev the 10th shows a clear bias.
These judges looked down at their scorecards after round 6 and didn't like what they saw. Then made up their mind that Kovalev wasn't getting another single round that night.
Completely 100% agree.
Ward has been given advantages throughout his career though.
In the Super 6, he never left his own country when all the other fighters had to be on the road and he rarely leaves his hometown. Not to discredit his achievements of course, in the super 6 he did a great job and he's a very good fighter.... but when you consider how he's always had everything in his favour, it makes you wonder if he would have got gifts in the Super Six if he had needed them, i'm pretty certain he would.
Him getting gifted that win last night is no surprise. It's just another advantage in a long list, it's just that this one was against he fighter he couldn't beat. He would have got gifts before now if he had needed them.
I picked Ward to win, but he didn't.
1 round out of the last 6 for kov on all the scorecards AHAHAHAH you have to be kidding me, that was a disgrace but its vegas after all and ward is blessed, kov wont beat ward in US UNLESS he stops him, thats a FACT
So you're just gonna ignore all the shots Kovalev hit Ward in those same rounds, and the fact that Kovalev outlanded hIm in most of those rounds you're talking about?
Interesting.
Kovalev's shots had no effect on Ward at all. Kovalev did not want to get into a fight with Ward. Ward took the fight to Kovalev and Kovalev wanted to grab every time Ward wanted to fight.
So we are going to ignore all the holding by Kovalev and below the belt punches?
How many of those punches landed clean on Ward? Winning rounds is not just about who landed the most punches because if that was the case, then why do we have judges scoring the fight?
Or maybe we saw 1 world class fighters give boxing fans a damn good fight and they went blow for blow and instead of fans congratulating they are b1tching and moaning..Hell we get an immediate rematch to enjoy..shut the fvck up
round 10 who did you score it for? Because that was the deciding factor on there score cards and almost everyone can agree that was a Kov round. Interesting a champ like Kov didn't get the Canelo or Danny Garcia treatment in close fights.

Now you make a toe to toe battle from it Larry ?the fight was good at best ,ofc names elevated this fight.
with whole respect you are All against racism and racism was in full display when verdict was given.

Class was in session? Getting your face busted up and knocked down and scraping by with a 1 point decision that most thought should have gone the other way is a schooling?

I seriously doubt they screwed Kovalev over intentionally. In all honesty, if they were gonna favor someone deliberately, it would have BEEN Sergei because he's the more exciting and marketable fighter and there's more money in him than Ward from a promoter's POV.
